According to a report by Chris Fedor, a reporter for the Cleveland Honest Man, alliance sources revealed that the Cavaliers have discussed getting Josh Hart by signing first and then exchanging for Josh Hart.

While Hart wasn't the Cavaliers' target shooter when the free agent market opened, other options were quickly snatched up and the Cavaliers are currently considering more possibilities.

According to previous reports, the Pelicans have offered Josh Hart a qualifying offer contract and he will become a restricted free agent.

In the 2020-21 regular season, Hart averaged 28.7 minutes per game, 9.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
