Can Kyrie Owen play the All-Star Game?

Blue Net guard Kyrie Irving has the potential to make his only appearance of the season at the All-Star Game. Irving appears prepared to be absent all year round, rather than complying with New York City's vaccination regulations, requiring him to be vaccinated before his home games. Cleveland, however, doesn't have authorization and it will host a Feb. 20 game, so if fans vote for Irving to join the team, there's nothing to stop Irving from playing.

The revised NBA All-Star Ballot lists all active players, including Irving, who is still on the Nets' roster despite his unlikely current appearances. Irving has more than 4.3 million followers on Twitter and more than 15.5 million on instagram, with a large number of fan support. He is also likely to get plenty of votes from those who want to make a political statement against the vaccine mandate.

Fan votes will account for 50% of the final vote this year, with the rest being distributed by the media and players. If Irving gets a vote, the league is unlikely to prevent Irving from playing.
