Huaxi District is located in the central part of Guizhou Province, known as the "Pearl of the Plateau", especially famous for the Shilihetan National Urban Wetland Park, Kong Xuetang, Huaxi Park, Tianhetan, Qingyan Ancient Town, and Miaoxiang Gaopo. Huaxi ethnic minorities can sing and dance, Mengguan Miao monkey encouragement, Qingyan flower lantern play, Tongmuling Miao jumping field, Huangjia rose candy, etc. have been listed as provincial intangible cultural heritage list, Huaxi Miao peach blossoms have been listed as national intangible cultural heritage list. China's land is vast and vast, and there are obvious differences in life between the north and the south, between the interior and the frontier, and between cities and rural areas, and there are differences in geographical features, historical traditions, and ethnic customs in various regions. If the photographer wants to express a certain area well, he must always pay attention to giving full play to the advantages of the region, study the local characteristics, work hard, understand the history and current situation, refine the theme, and choose an expressive angle.
Differences in regional scenery are one of the most concerned features of photographers, but they are often criticized for their uniform expression. Compared with painting, photography seems to be inconvenient to refine the "landscape in the heart" at will, is there no room for breakthrough? Of course not. Most of the time, our lens is only attracted by the surface of the scene, such as the majesty of the mountains, the meandering of the river, the delicacy of the flowers and plants, even if there are slight differences in the angle of the scene and the method of expression, the perception is still similar. If we want to discover the background color of the scenery, perhaps we can try to cut in from different angles, such as the performance around a river, the macroscopic display of the landscape changes brought by the river due to its geographical characteristics, or the microscopic observation of the species of animals and plants in the river basin, the relationship between living habits and geography, etc., which may achieve images with points of view and highlights.
Compared with the scenery, the performance of the characteristics of a regional character is more difficult, not only in appearance, clothing and other external factors, but also in the internal factors such as personality background. For external factors, intuitive performance can obtain effective results, but it is also easy to appear blunt and thin. The performance of the personality background can add greater attraction to the character, which requires the photographer to dive into life and find a vivid shining point. Not to mention the casual tone in the Sichuan tea house that photographers are already familiar with, the small purchases and fine processing in the southern vegetable market that are jokingly talked about on the Internet, and the "arrogant" bath life formed by the winter climate in the north, all show a distinct local character.
There are also many photographers who pay attention to the performance of unique folk things in the region and record the unique cultural landscape. Some of the values in local traditional culture are still living in people's daily lives today. These images naturally have their documentary value, but if you want to jump out of the "program", you still need photographers to deeply discover the cultural background, such as trying to find out how the past folklore has affected people's lives now, and even what kind of new folklore has been bred by the development of the times, rather than just being satisfied with shooting folklore performances and activity scenes.
If we say that historical inheritance and cultural traditions are the background of a country, it is the spiritual "DNA" of a nation's stability. Our photography should also strive to find and polish the background color, and even use creativity to fully display the regional character and add spiritual brightness to the photo.
