Since the state decided to restore the military rank system, the list of the ten marshals was also released, and they all made great contributions to the founding of New China and deserved to enjoy this honor.

But in fact, there is another person who has made great achievements like them, and if he is still alive after the founding of the country, he will certainly be one of the ten marshals. However, it is a pity that his life ended in 1942, and he could not see the victory of the revolution until his death, and on the day of his funeral, Chairman Mao personally carried a coffin for him for burial, which made everyone present moved.

So who is this person? What stories happened to him? Why did Chairman Mao personally "carry the coffin" for him?

If he were still alive after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he would certainly be one of the Ten Marshals, and Chairman Mao would carry the coffin for him alone in his lifetime, and the revolutionary road met Zhiyin skillfully persuaded Zhang Guotao to return to the old disease and was tortured Chairman Mao carried the coffin for him

Chairman Mao had many comrades-in-arms who fought alongside him in his lifetime, but there was only one person who could personally carry the coffin to the funeral after his death, and he was Lin Yuying. Lin Yuying's guide to the revolutionary road was his cousin Lin Yunan, and after meeting Yun Daiying and others, he gradually deepened his understanding of revolution.

In 1919, the three of them jointly established a Liqun Book Club, mainly "Liqun Mutual Help, Serve the Masses", an idea that soon influenced Mao Zedong, and when he returned to his hometown, he also established a cultural book club with his friends. Soon after, Lin Yuying, Yun Daiying and others set up a towel factory, so that the members practiced half-work and half-reading, and the news reached Mao Zedong, and he once again asked his friends to go to Hubei to learn experience and buy looms.

During this period, although Lin Yuying and Mao Zedong did not meet much, the two sides always exchanged letters and letters, and they had been "god friends" for a long time. It wasn't until Lin Yuying was invited to Changsha to help organize a weaving factory that the two finally met officially, and Mao Zedong often encouraged him.

Soon after, the Communist Party of China was founded, and Lin Yuying officially joined it, becoming a backbone member of the early workers' movement of the CCP. In the following time, he successively promoted the workers' movement in many places and resolutely opposed the persecution of the Chinese by imperialism.

In 1928, Lin Yuying was sent to Hunan and formed the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China with a group of comrades, directly becoming Mao Zedong's "superior". At that time, because a large number of "eradicating communist" forces undermined it, causing the XIANGgan agents of the CPC to break off contact with the central and Hunan provincial party committees, Lin Yuying personally sent people to bring relevant letters and work guidance on many occasions, which greatly promoted the development and consolidation of the Jinggangshan revolutionary base area.

The following year, Lin Yuying was transferred to work in Anyuan, Jiangxi, and later because he was whistleblowed by traitors, he had to dress up as a monk and beg along the way to find the party organization safely. After a period of repair, Lin Yuying was sent to the northeast by the party organization to restore the Manchurian provincial party committee destroyed by the Japanese army and the party organizations in Shenyang and Fushun.

Unfortunately, during this period, he was again betrayed by traitors and arrested and imprisoned by the Japanese gendarmes. And no matter how cruel the Japanese army exhausted, Lin Yuying was determined not to say anything. Later, after the full rescue of the central government, Lin Yuying finally escaped the clutches of the Japanese army, and in the following time, he continued to run around for the cause of the revolution.

In 1935, Lin Yuying went to Moscow and joined the delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to the Communist International, during which time he had very close contact with Stalin, often discussed issues related to the Chinese revolution with him, participated in the drafting of the August 1st Declaration, and attended the Seventh Congress of the Communist International.

At that time, the Central Committee was taking the Long March Road, and had already lost contact with the Comintern, and there was no way to learn the relevant details in time, so Lin Yuying was sent back to China to contact the Central Committee. After making preparations, he chose to enter mongolia, because there were few Kuomintang troops here, but because there were checkpoints in the middle, he could not bring documents, and could only memorize them all in his mind.

Finally, after sleeping in the mountains and mountains for nearly a month, Lin Yuying successfully arrived at The Wayao Fort in Yan'an, the seat of the CPC Central Committee, with the radio code, and also met Chairman Mao again. Chairman Mao was very happy to see this old friend whom he had not seen for many years, and then he said: "When you return, there is one more general in our ranks!" Lin Yuying also replied: "You and the comrades of the Red Army have worked hard!" ”

Soon after, Chairman Mao gathered together several important leaders of the Party Central Committee and listened to Lin Yuying's spirit of the Seventh Congress of the Communist International, and within a few days, the Central Committee held an enlarged meeting of the Politburo to confirm the line and the principles and tactics that the Communist Party of China would take next.

When the meeting was over, Chairman Mao entrusted Lin Yuying with a very difficult task, that is, to win Zhang Guotao to lead the army north.

It turned out that during the Long March of the Red Army, Zhang Guotao openly disobeyed the decision of the Central Committee and led a part of his troops to the south, and then he disregarded the opposition of the people and established the second Central Committee, at that time Chairman Mao and many leaders in the Party made the greatest efforts, hoping that he would turn back, but the result was still not much effect.

But now that Lin Yuying had arrived, Chairman Mao felt that he could use the authority of the Comintern and as an international representative to persuade Zhang Guotao to end the "Second Central Committee." Feeling that he had received a heavy responsibility, Lin Yuying told Chairman Mao: "I will try my best to cooperate with you and the work of the Central Committee!" ”

After accepting this task in a duty- and obligatory manner, Lin Yuying first tried to send a telegram to Zhang Guotao, informing him that he would personally go over, Zhang Guotao was very panicked at first, but on the other hand, he was lucky, thinking that Lin Yuying would support him, and for this reason he also replied to a telegram saying that he would obey the instructions of the Communist International.

Lin Yuying saw that Zhang Guotao had such an attitude, so he continued to communicate with him, but the other party still insisted on going his own way, that is, he refused to cancel the "Second Central Committee" and also called the Yan'an side the "Northern Bureau".

Lin Yuying was very indignant at Zhang Guotao's behavior, determined not to deal with him anymore, and soon called him to inform him that the Communist Party of China was the first in the ranks of the Communist International except the United Communist Party, and that the Communist International also agreed with the political line of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

This is obviously telling Zhang Guotao that he must carefully consider the current situation, otherwise he will violate the instructions of the Communist International, Zhang Guotao is well aware of the importance of Lin Yuying's international representative status, and he also knows that his statement is quite weighty, so he does not dare to continue to be wrong like this, otherwise he will be charged with crimes, plus the Left Route Army has frequently lost battles in the south, and the political commissar of the Red Fourth Front Army has also begun to oppose himself, and if he continues like this, he will become a lonely man.

So when Lin Yuying and the crowd called again and proposed to the Red Army going south to Shaanxi and Gansu, Zhang Guotao cancelled the "Second Central Committee" and quickly led the army to advance towards the Shaanxi-Gansu region.

Considering that Zhang Guotao would be worried about his situation in Yan'an, Lin Yuying, Chairman Mao, Zhou Enlai, and others jointly sent him a telegram, making it clear that there was no discussion of the past controversy, and Zhang Guotao also quickly called back, saying that he respected the instructions of the Comintern and the Central Committee and resolutely would not change them.

In November 1936, the Red Second and Fourth Fronts finally arrived at their destination smoothly, and Lin Yuying came out on behalf of the Party Central Committee to greet them, and Zhang Guotao's separatism officially ended in failure. It was precisely because of Lin Yuying's maneuvering that the Red Army would not be split, and the Communist Party of China was able to formulate new political lines, principles, and tactics in a timely manner to prepare for the future anti-Japanese national united front.

In 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out in full swing, and under the arrangement of the Central Committee, Lin Yuying served as the political commissar of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, responsible for solving various problems in the army, and with his presence, this army gradually became a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

The following year, Lin Yuying was transferred back to the central government, because at this time his body had gradually begun to be unable to support, and the sequelae left by the previous injuries caused his encephalopathy to occur frequently, and more seriously, he would faint on the job. Seeing that Lin Yuying's condition was already so serious, the central authorities also attached great importance to it, and after transferring Deng Xiaoping to take his place, they allowed him to quickly return to Yan'an to recuperate.

Chairman Mao was also very sad when he learned of Lin Yuying's condition, so he also specially summoned Zhu De to discuss whether he could talk to the CPSU side and asked him to send a special plane over there to take Lin Yuying away for treatment. Soon, under Chairman Mao's personal interrogation arrangements, the CPC Central Committee quickly made contact with the CPSU side, and after the two sides communicated well, the Soviet Union sent a special plane to Yan'an Airport.

Lin Yuying did not know about this at first, but later learned that the Central Committee wanted to send himself to the Soviet Union for treatment, he categorically refused, for his own illness, he actually knew very well, considering that this disease may not be cured, Lin Yuying proposed that it is better to send the injured Eighth Route Army to the past for treatment, after they are cured, they can continue to fight for the country's revolutionary cause.

Knowing that Lin Yuying was unwilling to go to the Soviet Union, the responsible people of the central authorities came to persuade him, but there was still no effect, and seeing that no matter how much others dissuaded him, it was useless, Chairman Mao decided to respect Lin Yuying's wishes, not to say anything more, and then sent the wounded in the Eighth Route Army to the Soviet Union.

In the following days, the central government continued to find various ways to treat Lin Yuying's illness, but the medical conditions in Yan'an during the war were not good, so his condition became worse and worse, and he was later paralyzed in bed due to cerebral hemorrhage. Even so, Lin Yuying always paid close attention to the changes in the situation within the party, and often wrote letters to Chairman Mao during this period.

Chairman Mao was touched by his far-sightedness and his spirit of always showing concern for the party's cause, and while replying to his letters, he often earnestly inquired about his illness, hoping that he would be able to recuperate well, and later whenever he could spare time, he would personally visit Lin Yuying.

In August 1941, the Japanese army carried out a crazy bombing of the city and outside the city of Yan'an, when a bomb landed in front of the cave where Lin Yuying lived, suffering from the huge explosion sound and shock wave, his brain and heart were strongly stimulated, and when he was rushed to the hospital for treatment, many organs inside Lin Yuying's body began to have problems of varying degrees.

When Chairman Mao learned of this, he instructed the Central Hospital to make every effort to rescue him, but fortunately, with the doctor's superb skills, Lin Yuying's condition gradually improved, but at this time, he could no longer go to the ground, but even so, he still kept an eye on the affairs of the party.

In February 1942, Lin Yuying's condition deteriorated again, and sensing that he was about to die soon, he called his family members to his side and said slowly: "I have not been able to see the victory of the revolution, I deeply regret it, after my death, please organize me to bury me in Taohualing, opposite Yangjialing, so that I can look at the Party Central Committee and Chairman Mao every day!" On March 6, Lin Yuying unfortunately passed away at the age of 45.

On the afternoon of his death, the central government set up the Lin Yuying Funeral Committee, and lin Yuying's body was subsequently moved to the central auditorium, while the central leaders such as Chairman Mao, Zhu De, Chen Yun, and Ye Jianying took turns to guard his soul.

The next day, people from all walks of life spontaneously came to mourn, and seeing Lin Yuying's remains, many people could not help but cry. On the 8th, tens of thousands of people in Yan'an specially came to attend the farewell ceremony of Lin Yuying's body, and Chairman Mao, while lamenting his grief, personally wrote a pair of elegies for him: "Loyalty to the country, although he is still honored in death."

On the 9th, the Central Committee held a public ceremony for Lin Yuying, and before the ceremony began, Chairman Mao said to Zhu De and others: "Lin Yuying is a very good comrade, and his death is a great loss to our party, and I am very sad in my heart. The crowd agreed.

At nine o'clock in the morning, the public sacrifice ceremony was held in the square in front of the Central Party School in Yan'an, where Ren Bishi presided over the ceremony and Li Kenong recited the sacrifice text, and subsequently, the central leaders called on everyone to learn from Lin Yuying's spirit of bravery and indomitability and hard-working, and to learn his loyalty to the party.

When the ceremony was over, Chairman Mao, Zhu De, Yang Shangjun, Xu Teli and others slowly carried Lin Yuying's coffin to Taohualing in the presence of tens of thousands of people. This was the only time in Chairman Mao's life that he carried a coffin for his comrades-in-arms, and from then on, Lin Yuying's heroic soul could always look at the Party Central Committee, and Lin Yuying's revolutionary friendship with Chairman Mao would last forever.
