From November 3, the cold wave began to affect Xinjiang and other places in China, not only bringing blizzards and drastic cooling, but also in the process of crossing the Tianshan Mountains and pouring into the Tarim Basin on the evening of November 4, letting the famous "Thirty Mile Wind Area" and "100 Mile Wind Area" hurricanes near Hami, Turpan, roaring, and the thirteen room stations recorded 40.3 m/s of 13 gales and 12 gusts in the early morning for a full 20 hours, more violent than the typhoons that landed in China this year! At one point, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Meteorological Observatory hung the highest level of high wind red warning.
Whether it is blizzards, big cooling or howling winds in Xinjiang and other places, it shows that this cold wave has a fairly strong strength. Today, the wind cooling of the cold wave began to spread to Gansu, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia and other places, and the cold wave is further expanding south to the east, and the nationwide cooling and large-scale rain and snow are about to occur.
Today, the Central Meteorological Observatory not only hung up cold wave warnings and strong wind warnings, but also hung up blizzard warnings, reminding that a large-scale heavy snowfall in northern China is coming. But in fact, the snowflakes brought by this cold wave will not be limited to the northern region - from the minimum temperature forecast map of the Central Meteorological Observatory, the minimum temperature 0 degree line will be greatly expanded southward in the cold wave, the eastern section will go south to the south of the Yellow River to approach the Huai River Basin, and the western section will invade the south of the Qinling Mountains, so that the south of China actually has the opportunity to snow.
Judging from the current supercomputer's forecast, after the cold wave goes south, the snow line in China's western region will be pressed on the slopes of the northwest suburbs of southern Shaanxi, northern Sichuan and even Chengdu on the western front, while the eastern line may reach the mountainous areas of northern Chongqing and western Hubei, and some snowfall may also reach the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, although it cannot go down to the Sichuan Basin for the time being, but for Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guizhou, this will also be the coldest moment this year.
For example, the Wuhan Central Meteorological Observatory has hung a yellow warning of cold waves today, pointing out that due to the strong cold air, the temperature in most parts of Hubei Province will generally drop by 8-10 degrees, and there will be snowfall in the alpine regions of northwest Hubei. In general, starting from the 7th, Sichuan Chongqing, Hubei, Yunnan and Guizhou may report snowflakes successively.
