After the independence of the Imperial Household, the Counselors were no longer ruled by the Prime Minister, but appointed by the Emperor, and could concurrently serve as imperial history, and gradually changed from supervising the Emperor to supervising the Prime Minister and hundred officials.

Later, the imperial court no longer attached importance to the counselors, and began to appear Cai Jing, Qin Ju and other powerful ministers.

After the Song Dynasty, the counselors either died in name or in name.
