Mao Zedong went to Orange Island

In the summer of 1961, a few years ago, I was about to graduate from elementary school and participated in a three-day summer camp in NiutouZhou. Most of us, the elementary school students in the city, took the ferry for the first time and walked to the head of Orange Island (the southern end of Orange Island).

After the founding of New China, from 1954 onwards, every time he returned to Hunan, as long as time permitted, Mao Zedong would revisit the Xiangjiang River and set foot on the treasure land of Orange Island, talk to the residents of the continent, care for the villagers on the continent, and reminisce about the past time.

——Excerpted from the chapter "Mao Zedong's Journey to the Xiang River in His Later Years" in "Changsha Orange Island"

On the morning of the first day of the summer camp, the principal of Orange Island Elementary School and two male and female students excitedly recalled the scene when they met Chairman Mao:

At two o'clock in the afternoon of June 24, 1959, Mao Zedong boarded a steamship from the Xiang River, changed his clothes and went into the water after a short rest. It is the flood season, the turbidity is turbulent, and the waves are rolling. He swims in the river and talks to the athletes who accompany him, encouraging them to be brave enough to go upstream. Swimming to the place where the water flow is rapid at the head of the Orange Island, Mao Zedong proposed to go to the head of the Orange Island to have a look. An escort lobbyist said that the water flow here is the most urgent, please wait a moment. Chairman Mao, on the other hand, said that the water here is the most rapid, and it is going to go up from this place. So, chopping the waves, after docking, stepping on the thorny weeds, on the orange island.

Clad in a blue and white terry coat, he walked steadily through a vegetable patch to the door of a vegetable farmer's house, where an old man immediately recognized Chairman Mao and excitedly moved a bench and invited Chairman Mao to sit. The nearby masses rushed to hear the news, and Chairman Mao greeted them one by one. A white-haired old man with hot tears holding a cup of hot tea came to him, and Chairman Mao quickly got up to take the tea...

On this day, the teachers and students of The First Elementary School in Orange Island were taking labor classes, and two sharp-eyed ones recognized him at a glance, "It is Chairman Mao." The students gathered around to salute, and he asked kindly: Which school are you from, go to your school to see if it is okay... So Chairman Mao took a boy in his left hand and a girl in his right hand, stepped into the school gate, greeted the teachers and students happily, and took a picture with them (the two classmates were these two boys and girls)...

In the afternoon, the summer camp organized us to swim in the east of orange island head, not far from the shore where Chairman Mao had swam, and two of my classmates and I wanted to swim there, but the teacher stopped us, and the water was indeed turbulent and choppy.

When we came ashore, a white-bearded father [diǎ] said to us: After dinner, here I will tell you a story.

The legend of Orange Island

After dinner, we sneaked out of the school gate to the river east of The Island Head, and the white-bearded father [diǎ], sitting on the bamboo bed by the river, slowly told us the legend of Orange Island with a big fan:

A long time ago, the Xiangjiang River was very wide, and there was no continent in the river, standing on the east side of the river and looking out at the west of the river; the river had no wind and three feet of waves, and when it was windy and rainy, the waves were top of the sky, and the sky was pressed against the waves, and it was impossible to distinguish which was the river and which was the sky. On this terrible river, there is a group of miserable fishermen who fish day and night, and it is difficult to survive.

Among the fishermen, there is a fisherman named "Bearded Daddy", who can fish diligently and alone, and could have eaten enough, but he would rather be hungry himself than give food to the fishermen who are the most miserable in life. Everyone was grateful to him and wanted to do something for him.

Everyone agreed to make him a wide and thick belt, warm and strong and protective. So, the seven most embroidered girls woven a strong and wide belt with snow-white fishing net thread. On the belt, he embroidered the big river with various colors of velvet thread, and in the big river was embroidered a small continent, and the small island was full of orange trees and willow trees.

The belt was embroidered, and the girls held it to the bearded father. The bearded father looked at the snow-white belt, looked at the small island, orange tree, and willow tree embroidered on the belt, and took it and was moved to cry. The fishermen tied their belts firmly around the bearded father's waist. Since then, this belt has not left the bearded father's waist all year round. Winter is not cold, fishing is energetic, during the rest of the bearded father happy to sing, everyone found that the bearded father seems to have returned to old age.

One day, everyone fished in the river again, from morning to night, and even the bearded father, who was the best at fishing, did not hit a small fish. Did the fish in the river all travel to the Dragon King's Palace? The fishermen were in a hurry until dark and they hadn't come ashore! At this moment, the wind and clouds suddenly changed, and a big storm came. Everyone hurriedly pulled the boat to the shore, but it was too late.

The waves washed the fishing boats into the sky, and the wind pressed the fishing boats to the water, again and again, the wind and rain were getting bigger and bigger, and the bearded father was old and weak, and slowly could not support it, and everyone rushed to move closer to him. He looked at the fishermen who had lived together for decades and burst into tears... At this time, a big wave washed the bearded father into the sky, and the boat overturned and fell into the wave valley. Everyone cried and shouted, "Bearded Daddy! Bearded Daddy! ”

We were worried about the safety of Daddy Beard, but the school whistle sounded, and we had to go back to school, and Daddy Whitebeard [diǎ] said, "And listen to tomorrow night's decomposition." ”

The next morning, we visited Orange Island Park, which is under construction, which, according to the gardener's uncle, once inhabited by rare animals such as cranes, herons, gulls, foxes, and badgers. The residents of the continent make a living by cooking and fishing, and they have planted orange trees in front of and behind the houses, and the production team has planted orange trees collectively, which have borne fruitful fruits, and this year it is a stable harvest again.

Walk along Orange Island Road and see the Tianlun Paper Mill and the Orange Island Tempeh Factory, which were the big factories in Orange Island and Changsha at that time. Then came to the Water Culture Palace, seamen's dormitory, Orange Island Department Store surrounded by a large camphor tree, this tree is tall and tall, leafy, shady, six of our classmates fingertips to fingertips, barely hugged the tree. The wooden plaque on the trunk shows that the tree is 30 meters high, the chest diameter is 1.7 meters (the waist circumference is about 6 meters), and the tree is 300 years old. The "Tree King" on the continent can be called the "treasure of the town".

In the afternoon, go to the swimming pool west of Zhoutou, commonly known as the Xiangjiang River, no boats to pass, the shallow slope of the beach water is small, swimming is safer, and no entrance fee is charged.

After dinner, the old place listened to the white-bearded daddy [diǎ] continue to tell the story:

Bearded Daddy did not fall into the valley of the waves, he only felt a force around his waist lifting him, walking in the air, walking to the calm shore, it turned out that the strength of holding him was actually from the belt. He immediately took off his belt, held it and said, "Belt, belt, please save the fishermen who are suffering!" "After saying that, I threw the belt hard towards the fishermen.

The belt drifted down toward the fishermen, and as it drifted longer and longer, and more and more it floated larger and larger, a huge belt fell in front of the fishing boat, floated on the waves, and fell on the water, becoming a belt-shaped oasis full of orange and willow trees. The fishermen boarded the oasis, were saved, and cheered: "Bearded Father, help you!" "But the bearded father never appeared again."

The fishermen built a temple on the oasis, sculpted the statue of the bearded father, and enshrined it in the temple, so that he would always be with everyone. Settle down on the continent, work hard and fish, and cultivate The Oasis into a beautiful long island.

After telling the story, The white-bearded father [diǎ] said: "The last time Chairman Mao visited the islanders at Orange Island, I was the one who brought tea to Chairman Mao!" He took the teacup in both hands, made me sit next to him, and shook hands with me tightly, asking me about my high birthday kindly. I said that Chairman Mao was the great savior of the people! ”

We held the hands of the white-bearded father [diǎ] who had shook hands with Chairman Mao and bid farewell to Orange Island, which had been separated for more than thirty years.

I wrote the tour guide words that year

In 1992, I was engaged in tourism work in the unit, stepped on the orange island, planned the tourism route, and wrote the following words as follows for the "orange island day trip" tour guide:

In the urban section of Changsha, there is a long island in the heart of the river, named Orange Island. The total length is about 5 kilometers, the width is 40-200 meters, and the total area is 74 hectares, which is almost the same length as the old city of Changsha. The Changsha Xiangjiang Bridge spans Orange Island, and the west end of the bridge leads to the middle of Orange Island. There are still Mobil foreign firms, apartments for church clergy and former customs offices.

According to the "Changsha Orange Island" book, the orange island was formed in the second year of Yongxing (305) of the Jin Hui Emperor, which was formed by the accumulation of sand and soil in the river, more than 1700 years ago, but from the natural evolution process, it is at least 10,000 years old. In ancient times, there were four continents: Orange Island, Weaving Continent, Oath Continent and Quanzhou. Until the Tang and Song dynasties, it was still a string of unconnected sandbars, divided into three continents: upper, middle and lower (also known as NiutouZhou, Shuiluzhou, and Fujiazhou). It now evolved into a string of long islands called "Orange Island" (fu jia zhou at the northern end, not connected to orange island).

Orange Island has a long history and profound cultural heritage, and has many records in history books and ancient and modern celebrity travelogues. Orange Island is famous for its beautiful scenery, and the famous Northern Song Dynasty calligrapher and painter Mi Fu, when he was an aide-de-camp of Changsha Province, once wrote a poem "Eight Views of Xiaoxiang", depicting the area around the tail of Orange Island as "Twilight Snow in the River": "The fishing boat is missing without a trace, and the clouds are dim and mixed with the river sky." XiangFei was alone with Junshan Lao, and her eyebrows were already clear in the mirror. "Although these monuments are gone, the good memories of the snow falling quietly have always been in Orange Island. The Qing Xiao Dajing "GongjiLou Summer" said that it was like being a god on Penglai Island. The Qing scholar Guo Wu's "Preface to the Endowment and Merger of Orange Island" vividly describes the beauty of Orange Island.

In modern times, officials, merchants, and missionaries from Britain, Japan, the United States, Germany, Russia and other countries have built consulates and foreign villas on the continent, and Orange Island has become a paradise for foreigners.

There are many historical sites in Orange Island, including Shuilu Temple (Jiang Temple), Gongji Tower, Dongting Temple, Pei Gong Pavilion, Zhu Zhangdu and so on. (The original building no longer exists, but has been rebuilt)

When Mao Zedong was studying and teaching at the First Normal School in Hunan, he often came here with his best classmates to swim, stroll, and sunbathe on the beach. In the autumn of 1925, Mao Zedong put his head on a shawl to face the wind, and improvised the inscription "Qinyuan Chun Changsha", which was recited by hundreds of millions of people. The orange island mentioned in the word is located at the southern end of the orange island, and the local people call it Ox head island.

Founded in 1960, Orange Island Park covers an area of 14 hectares, which is 20% of the total area of the continent. From Changsha Railway Station, take bus No. 16 and arrive at the last station. Enter the gate and meet a rectangular flower bed and a "screen" of cedar and rhododendrons. Two wings of osmanthus and camellia flowers bloom several degrees, and the wide lawn is neat and tidy.

Bypassing the "screen", there is an orange tree that cannot be seen. There are more than a thousand orange trees and dozens of varieties. Autumn is full of fruits and is a must for the park. The stone path in the orangery stretches far away, with bamboo repairs and playgrounds in between, and the two sides of the road are hidden in the spring of the Fatong camphor hibiscus. Along the road, there are east and west pavilions and lawn rattans and "west chairs". Take a nap here, or look at the fence from afar, or focus on the river, and enjoy it.

Passing through the orange grove, you will be greeted by a huge white jade stele engraved with Mao Zedong's handwriting "Qinyuan Chun Changsha" and "Tangerine Zhoutou", surrounded by clusters of arrows and bamboo.

Further on, come to the Wangjiang Pavilion. The pavilion is square, supported by 16 terrazzo columns, heavy eaves, pale yellow glazed tiles, a treasure roof in the top, and the whole pavilion is yellow and white, elegant and solemn. The two wings are each built with a roll-shed square pavilion, and the corner veranda is connected, just like the golden phoenix spreading its wings and flying south.

Out of the Wangjiang Pavilion, it is a half-moon shaped cement flat, resembling the head of a giant ship. Standing on the "bow of the ship" and looking up at the distance, the Xiang River gushing south is very spectacular. The embankment is surrounded by slopes and stone fences, and the weeping willow berm. There is a launch dock directly in front of the "bow", from which you can board a boat for a tour or in the Bolang River.

Orange Island has a beautiful ecological environment since ancient times, and there are still thousands of flowers and vines growing, including 143 kinds of precious plants. There are 31 ancient trees with a chest diameter of more than 40 cm, including 12 camphor trees, 7 ginkgo biloba trees, 2 Luohan pine trees, 4 yellow lian trees, 1 elm tree, 4 mulberry trees, and 1 jujube tree (excerpted from the "Yuelu District Chronicle"). The greenery of the island is dominated by orange orchards, as well as plums, chestnuts, tea gardens and fruits planted with loquat, peach, pear, apricot and other people, wild fruits such as hawthorn, kiwifruit, golden cherry blossoms, and mountain begonias, which can be described as "orchards in the river" and "water parks".

Orange Island Head is Changsha's key cultural relics protection unit, melting and beautifying, incense, fruitification, purification as one, viewing mountains, water, oranges, Guizhou, and city, all four times are appropriate.

In 1986, Orange Island Park was awarded the title of "Best Park" at the provincial level, and in 1987, it was rated as a provincial "civilized unit" and a "red flag unit for landscaping", and received a total of 2.095 million tourists from 1982 to the end of 1987.

Witness the development and conservation of Orange Island

In the mid-1990s, tourism or red tourism was less prevalent than it is now. The two groups I have taken, tourists are full of praise for the ecological environment and red resources of Orange Island. In particular, Teacher Zhang of a middle school in Nanning's Education Committee talked with me very happily, saying: Orange Island has a profound historical and cultural heritage and red tourism resources, which still need to be excavated and protected, and the ecological environment needs to be strengthened and protected. It is proposed to relocate all factories, units and residents on the continent to build a "xeno-orangery" for pure eco-tourism and leisure.

I also feel the same way, in the city tourism work conference that year, I once gave advice to Mayor Yuan Hankun and got his approval.

The stars shifted, and the supercarrier of Orange Island sailed into the 21st century. In 2002, the relocation of immigrants began, and the development of Orange Island was launched. On May 12, 2004, the "Changsha Orange Island Development and Construction Headquarters" was listed. On New Year's Day 2009, the Orange Island Scenic Area was basically completed, and the park was opened on a trial basis, and on April 21 of the same year, Mayor Zhang Jianfei made a promise to the citizens at the head of Orange Island (the mayor's confidence stemmed from the sole government):Orange Island is open to the public for free, and no tickets are charged.

In more than six years and two thousand days, the government and builders through migration, relocation, demolition, new construction, reconstruction, expansion, utilization and other ways, the 7 11 protective buildings in the scenic spot, "repairing the old as old", "combining protection and development and utilization", and for more than 20 ancient trees with an age of more than 100 years, install lightning rods at the expense of nearly 80,000 yuan; in the past, the sewage directly discharged to the Xiangjiang River adopted advanced reclaimed water reuse treatment technology, and the treated reclaimed water was used to water flowers and grasses, achieving zero discharge of sewage in Orange Island.

Adhere to the construction positioning of ecology, culture, tourism and leisure, and improve the city's taste in accordance with the requirements of building a "two-type society", which runs through the whole process of the construction of Orange Island.

Sixty years later, listen to the beautiful tour guide talk about the current Orange Island

Today's Orange Island is not the same as sixty or twenty-five years ago, described in my tour guide's words, and has long been built into a gorgeous city card presented by Changsha City to the world. National AAAAA level scenic spots. The demonstration point of the national civilized scenic tourism area, one of the first batch of "red tourism" classic scenic spots in the country, the provincial civilized unit, the Hunan Hundred Scenic Spots unit, and one of the eight scenic spots of Xiaoxiang.

You may wish to follow the gold medal tour guide of a travel agency to have a "day trip to Orange Island" that can be walked away.

Subway Line 2 "Orange Island Station" out, take the sightseeing bus to the end. With a slim figure and skin like snow, a sweet voice came from the wireless microphone of the beautiful girl Zhou Dao, who was tightly wrapped in an orange-red professional suit:

Dear friends, this is the first sentence in Mao Zedong's "Qinyuan Spring and Changsha", "Independent cold autumn, xiangjiang north, orange island head" in the orange island head.

The large sculpture of Mao Zedong in his youth stands at the head of the continent, with a total height of 32 meters, a length of 83 meters and a width of 41 meters. Long flowing hair, handsome face, lightly locked eyebrows, deep eyes facing southeast, the world-known mole on the chin, highlighting the unique personality, reproducing the temperament of a generation of great people.

The entire sculpture is a reinforced mixed earth frame structure with Yongding red granite rock attached. The base of the sculpture is 3,500 square meters, made of more than 8,000 boulders spliced together, designed as Mao Zedong's shoulder, and the interior is an empty memorial hall that displays the life of Mao Zedong.

The façade of the mountain and the statue is made of stone, which is compatible with Mao Zedong's milk name "Shi Sanlingzi" because the stone can withstand the weathering of nature. Throughout Mao Zedong's life, he was rock solid, so all of them were made of stone. And these boulders take fujian Yongding "Yongding Red". It is reddish-gray in the sun and full red when it rains. Red is the color of the national flag, but also the favorite color of the Chinese people, and it means "the country and the mountains will always be fixed".

Follow the central axis in front of the statue of Mao Zedong's youth a hundred meters south to Wangjiang Pavilion, built on the site of the legendary Ancient Dongting Palace, which was built in the Tang Dynasty. The original pavilion was built along the river, embedded with a couplet signed an anfu (present-day Linli) zodiacal rang writing "Southwest clouds come to Hengyue, day and night under the sound of the river". The current pavilion was restored in 2008.

Named after Mao Runzhi's 32-year-old chanting "Ask the Vast Earth, Who Is the Lord of The Ups and Downs" and changing and advancing the course of Chinese and world history, "Ask the Heavenly Terrace" is located at the southernmost tip of Orange Island. There are 32 steps of stairs, built on the beach of the Xiangjiang River, with an area of 2,000 square meters. Qingtiantai is the best location for orange island to enjoy the beauty of the Xiangjiang River and the scenery belt on the east and west banks, and it is also the core scenic spot area of Orange Island.

A simple tree that has undergone the vicissitudes of Orange Island and is 180 years old, a stone stele with the inscription "Pointing the Jiangshan Mountains", stands in the center of the Qingtiantai and Wangjiang Pavilion, which bears witness to Chairman Mao's early revolutionary activities: From 1913 to 1923, Mao Runzhi and Cai Hesen, Zhang Kundi, Luo Xuezhan and other close friends hit the water, crossed the Xiang River, and under the tree " pointed out the rivers and mountains, stirred up the words", explored the truth and strategy of saving the country and the people, and "transforming China and the world".

Looking back to the north to the Forest of Poetry And Steles... The poetry stele was founded in August 1967, located in the central square 100 meters north of Wangjiang Pavilion, 8 meters long, 0.8 meters wide and 4.8 meters high, the poetry stele is surrounded by granite trims, embedded in the middle of the length of 6.7 meters wide, 0.7 meters, high 1.5 meters white marble, the north side is engraved with Mao Zedong's handwriting "Orange Island Head" four characters, the south side is engraved Mao Zedong's handwriting "Qinyuan Chun Changsha", all of which are pasted with gold leaf, and the east and west ends are inlaid with marble relief eagles, and there are flower beds under it.

The new "Qinyuan Chun Changsha" poetry stele, located in the guiyuan garden in the middle of Orange Island, is made of a piece of natural yellow wax stone transported from Guangdong Yingde, with a height of 3 meters, a length of 7 meters and a weight of more than 60 tons. It is made from a copy of Mao Zedong's hand-written watermark woodcut "Qinyuan Spring" on October 16, 1961. Natural stone complements Mao's calligraphy.

Orange Island is not only rich and unique in red tourism resources, with profound cultural and historical heritage, but also has a charming natural plant landscape.

After entering the core scenic spot, everyone must have found that the plants in the park have become distinctive. Because here are five gardens with different scenery, which hide ancient buildings. From south to north, there are orange orchards, bamboo gardens, plum gardens, peach orchards, and guiyuan gardens. Spring, summer, autumn and winter have distinct themes and characteristics: peach blossoms bloom in spring, green bamboo in summer against the wind, dangui fragrance in autumn, and cold plums and snow in winter. No matter what season you come in, you can feel the vibrant beauty of Orange Island.

The orange trees in front of us are green and fresh, and we came to the Citrus Culture Park. The orange groves are mainly planted with orange trees, with 44 varieties of southern oranges, honey oranges, kumquats, limes, etc., and more than 3,800 orange trees. Every harvest season, orange-yellow oranges hang on the branches, one tree next to another, the orange fragrance is thick, the sun sprinkles the orange forest, the colors are bright, the style is fresh, it is: "A good year of good scenery must remember, the most is the orange, yellow, orange and green time."

There are Tingjiang Pavilion, Pillow River Pavilion and Lanyue Pavilion in the park, all of which were built in August 1967. Tingjiang Pavilion is only 9 square meters, located on the east side of the original Orange Island Park gate on the riverside, and no longer exists. Lanyue Pavilion is located on the west side of the river, with a construction area of about 60 square meters and a reinforced concrete structure. Pillow River Pavilion is located on the east side of the river, construction area of about 800 square meters, the north side of the zigzag cloister, for the Republic of China period courtyard style architectural style, because the pillow in the heart of the river, listen to the gushing river water to the north, see all kinds of frost sky competition freedom and named, its architecture is natural and free, with a strong Jiangnan garden style.

There are two buildings in the garden.

Orange Island Inn was originally the former residence of Zhang Xiaozhun. Zhang Xiaozhun (1882-1925), a famous figure in the Xinhai Revolution. Its two former residences are curved ruler-shaped brick and wood structure buildings with green tile and gray walls, with corridors on the first and second floors and guardrails on the second floor, with a original construction area of 636.48 square meters. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was used as a residential building, and as a historical witness to the upsurge of the Great Revolution, it was announced as a modern and modern protected building in Changsha in 2005. After the repair, as an inn, the original architectural style has been basically retained, and it is actually a high-end hotel, which is idle. Since 2016, it has been used as a Changsha Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall.

The two red factories of the former Tianlun Paper Mill with a history of more than 70 years have been restored and transformed into two types of social exhibition halls in Zhutan, with an area of 2,800 square meters, which is the first exhibition hall in China to take the construction of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society as the theme.

In the garden, there is a group of statues of "who is in charge of the ups and downs", and the statues of Mao Zedong, Cai Hesen, He Shuheng, Xiang Jingyu and Xiao San are vivid, standing in the green shade, with flowers snuggling and orange groves. This is an original scenic spot in the scenic spot, and it is also the essence of the celebrity culture of the Orange Island Scenic Area.

The famous Zhuzhang Ancient Ferry is located in a bamboo garden. Zhu Xi, a famous master of science in the Southern Song Dynasty, visited Zhang Yu, the chief of Yuelu Academy, and the famous "Zhu Zhanghui Lecture" set up an altar at Yuelu Academy to discuss the Tao, creating the first style of talks between different schools. Zhu Xi was also invited by Zhang Yu to give a lecture at The Chengnan Academy, and because yuelu Academy was separated from the Chengnan Academy by a river, he had to cross the river frequently. According to legend, Zhu Zhang once named the west bank of the ferry as Wenjin, the ancient road leading to Yuelu Academy as Wenjin Road, and the east bank as Dao'an. In order to commemorate the teaching virtues and speculative spirit of the "crossing the river to teach" of the two Hongru, later generations called the ferry crossing across the river at that time "Zhuzhang Ancient Ferry".

Now the original style of Zhu Zhangdu has been restored, and the "Duxue Building" has been rebuilt, and the building has maintained the style of the Southern Song Dynasty. The Shangdu School Building on Orange Island is a first- or second-storey building designed in the style of a small-scale, elegant ancient pavilion, and faces the broad style of the millennium school with a humble attitude. Duxuehu echoes the ferry ports on both sides of the Xiang River and the "Wenjin" and "Dao'an" archways, forming an east-west landscape axis across the river, overlooking the scenery of the east and west ferry ports and Yuelu Mountains.

Stepping out of the bamboo garden and entering the plum garden, there seems to be a sense of cold plum pride in the middle of winter. On about 60 acres of land, there are 14 species of beauty plums, vertical plums, dragon plums, red plums, green plums, etc., and more than 600 plum blossoms. In the cold, it reveals a bit of the beauty of the proud group of flowers, which makes people feel endlessly evocative.

Walk through the plum and bamboo gardens to the peach orchards with peach blossoms in spring. In Taoyuan is the Xiaoxiang Celebrity Clubhouse, which was renovated by the Tang Shengzhi Mansion. In appearance, there are fewer traces of Europeanization, while the traditional architectural flavor is stronger. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was used by Orange Island Primary School and Hunan Provincial Edible Mushroom Research Institute. In 2002, it was announced as a modern and modern protected building in Changsha.

After the restoration and repair of the Tang Mansion, it was used as a Celebrity Club of Xiaoxiang, integrating academics, research and exchanges to receive Chinese and foreign friends and literati.

Then come to the fragrant guiyuan garden in autumn: more than 200 osmanthus trees such as golden gui, silver gui, dan gui, and four seasons gui, covering an area of about 46 acres.
