Exclusive interview | Japanese graphic design master Kenya Hara
Recently, Japanese design master Kenya Hara, as a curator, curated an exhibition in Shanghai called "Design: For Dogs". The exhibition attracted a large number of dog fans to bring their own Wang Xing people to play, and more often than not, they were architecture fans who loved dogs and loved architecture, because Hara invited many architects to participate and build houses for dogs.
As early as 1996, he had a similar plan, inviting a group of architects to design macaroni. He believes that the creativity of architects is not only reflected in their works, but also in the different qualities that each person exhibits when they are brought together under the same theme to design.
Kenya Hara is known for his "muji" design, and in recent years he has been curating various exhibitions around living spaces. In his view, future human beings may not need fixed residences, people will gradually choose to live closer to the external space, the home is empty except for the necessary items, "a new era of accommodation will soon come."
For dogs
Hara hired architects to build houses for dogs, not just for "pets", but through these works, trying to establish a connection between people and the size of dogs. His work "d-tunnel" was intended to design buildings where humans and dogs could look at each other.
You can also download drawings of these works on the project's dedicated website (architecturefordogs.com) and make them all yourself for your dog to use.

The future of housing
The 2013 exhibition "House Vision" is a reflection on "home", and Hara kenya pairs architects with companies to show the futuristic home. He believes that people will become a new type of nomadic people, no longer need a fixed residence, and the hotels of the future will also feel like home.

Asia in the temperate zone has a mild climate, people's lives should also be interconnected with the external space, so the construction of houses should pay more attention to the opening of the outside world, Hara predicted: "I am afraid that in the future, the way of human habitation will change, and the housing from Asia will replace the current way of living." ”

Hara also advocates "breaking away" and advocating a lighter life. In his view, people in the world have too many things, except for a small number of necessary items, everything else should be thrown away. "Nothing space" will generate a new sense of aesthetics and will have a great opportunity to change the world.

The architect's macaroni
What was it like to have a group of architects design macaroni? In 1996, Kenya Hara organized a number of architects to design shapes for macaroni, each of which is uniquely shaped and full of wonderful fun and the architect's personal style.
