According to the data released by the Xiangyang Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics: In September 2021, the consumer price (CPI) operation in Xiangyang City rose month-on-month and increased year-on-year. From January to September, the CPI of Xiangyang Urban Area fell by 0.2% compared with the same period last year.

Livestock meat prices fell by 5.4% month-on-month, affecting CPI by 0.18 percentage points month-on-month (of which pork prices fell by 8.5% month-on-month and CPI fell by 0.13 percentage points month-on-month);
Egg prices fell 1.7% month-on-month, affecting CPI by 0.01 percentage points sequentially;
Aquatic products fell by 8.6% month-on-month, affecting CPI by 0.12 percentage points month-on-month;
Fresh vegetable prices fell by 1.3% month-on-month, affecting CPI by 0.02 percentage points month-on-month;
Dried and fresh melons and fruits fell by 0.1% month-on-month;
Milk rose 2.2% month-on-month, affecting CPI up 0.03 percentage points month-on-month.

Clothing category rose 2.5% month-on-month;
Residential category increased by 0.1% month-on-month;
Daily necessities and services were flat month-on-month;

Food prices fell by 7.2% year-on-year, affecting CPI by 1.32 percentage points year-on-year;
Grain prices fell by 0.1% year-on-year;
Edible oil prices rose by 11.8% year-on-year, affecting CPI by 0.10 percentage points year-on-year;
Livestock meat prices fell by 36.0% year-on-year, affecting CPI by 1.76 percentage points year-on-year (of which pork prices fell by 50.1% year-on-year, affecting CPI by 1.37 percentage points year-on-year);
Egg prices rose 11.1% year-on-year, affecting CPI up 0.06 percentage points year-on-year;
The price of aquatic products increased by 11.0% year-on-year, affecting the CPI by 0.13 percentage points year-on-year;

The total price level and ranking in the province
In September 2021, the consumer price of xiangyang urban residents rose by 0.1% year-on-year, 0.6 percentage points lower than the national average (0.7%), and 0.6 percentage points lower than the provincial average (0.7%), ranking eighth in the province. Up 0.1% month-on-month, 0.1 percentage points higher than the national average (0.0%), 0.1 percentage points lower than the provincial average (0.2%), ranking sixth in the province.
Fresh vegetable prices rose and fell in the province's ranking
In September 2021, the price of fresh vegetables in Xiangyang city fell month-on-month and year-on-year.
Among them: from a month-on-month perspective, the price of fresh vegetables in Xiangyang City fell by 1.3% month-on-month, lower than Xiaogan (4.8%), Enshi Prefecture (4.7%), Yichang (4.6%), Shiyan (3.9%), Ezhou (2.3%), Wuhan, Suizhou (same as 1.9%), Jingzhou (1.7%), Xianning (1.3%), Shenlongjia Forest District (0.4%), Huangshi, Tianmen (also -0.1%), Huanggang (-0.5%), higher than Jingmen (-5.7%), ranking fourteenth in the province.
From a year-on-year perspective, the price of fresh vegetables in Xiangyang City fell by 1.6% year-on-year, lower than Huangshi (1.5%), Jingmen (-0.5%), higher than Shennongjia Forest Area (-2.5%), Ezhou (-3.3%), Tianmen (-3.8%), Enshi Prefecture (-4.4%), Wuhan (-4.5%), Xiaogan (-4.7%), Jingzhou (-6.3%), Yichang, Huanggang (also -6.7%), Xianning (-11.4%), Suizhou (-15.5%), Tied with Shiyan ranked third in the province.
