In the "Book of Wu" in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, there is a volume dedicated to the twelve fierce generals of Eastern Wu, known as the "Tiger Ministers of Jiangbiao (Jiangnan)", namely: Cheng Pu, Huang Gai, Han Dang, Jiang Qin, Zhou Tai, Chen Wu, Dong Xian, Gan Ning, Ling Tong, Xu Sheng, Pan Zhang, and Ding Feng. Among them, the first person on the list is Cheng Pu, who is definitely the number one founder of the older generation of Eastern Wu, and everyone respectfully calls him "Cheng Gong".
Cheng Pu (程浦), courtesy name Demou, was a native of Tuyu (present-day Fengrundong, Hebei). Handsome, high IQ, good eloquence, as recorded in the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms Wu Shu" "has a good appearance, good at coping." Cheng Pu was loyal to the old Sun family of Eastern Wu, and he followed The First Generation Leader of Eastern Wu, Sun Jian, to fight against the Yellow Turban and break Dong Zhuo very early on, charging into the battlefield, fearless, and being wounded many times, just as the so-called "siege field battle, the body was destroyed". After Sun Jian's death, Cheng Pu followed Sun Ce, the second generation leader of Eastern Wu, throughout Jiangdong, breaking countless enemies. After Sun Ce's death, Cheng Pu continued to exert his loyalty and bravery, assisting Sun Quan, the third generation leader of Eastern Wu, and all the forces that disobeyed Sun Quan were destroyed by him, which is the so-called "circumventing the three counties and peacefully disobeying". At that time, the leader of the Eastern Wu civil official group was Zhang Zhao, and the leader of the Eastern Wu general group was Cheng Pu, who was the oldest of all the Eastern Wu generals, the oldest, and the most prestigious, and the second in line was Huang Gai, who was also brave and good at war, Cheng and Huang, who were the elders that Sun Quan relied on the most, and those Eastern Wu generals who had more fierce force values, such as Zhou Tai and Gan Ning, were all up-and-coming stars. In the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Cheng Pu is also both wise and courageous, once stabbed Dong Zhuo's general Hu Yi with an iron-ridged snake spear, and later Cheng Pu's boss Sun Jian attacked Luoyang and accidentally found the Chuanguo Jade Seal, Sun Jian himself did not know what it was, and the well-informed Cheng Pu told him about the history of the Chuanguo Jade Seal and suggested that Sun Jian quickly take this treasure back to his hometown. However, this chuanguo jade seal eventually killed Sun Jian.
