Ning Cai: The problem of difficulty in broadcasting national theme film and television dramas needs to be solved urgently

Hohhot, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Mongolian director Ning Cai is tangled and twisted.

On the one hand, he is worried about the broadcast of the tv series with the main theme of national themes. On the other hand, in order to tap more national film talents, he founded a film school.

Entanglement and hope are together. Ning Cai said that this was his "mission of the soul."

"It is difficult to broadcast film and television dramas with national themes, and it is even more difficult to broadcast revolutionary historical dramas with the main theme of national themes." At the Fifth Session of the Eleventh CPPCC National Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region held here, Ning Cai, as a member of the CppcC National Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was worried about the broadcast of the ethnic theme TV series "Liema Changfeng" (formerly known as "Jinge Iron Horse") and ran for the appeal on various occasions for this matter.

Directed by Ning Cai and Tang Liuyi, "The Long Wind of the Horse" began filming in Tongliao in 2014, starring Xing Jiadong and Yano Koji. The TV series mainly tells the story of the people of Inner Mongolia between 1929 and 1949, under the wanton plundering of reactionary warlords, the cruel trampling of Japanese invaders, and the sinister oppression of the Kuomintang reactionaries, they fearlessly feared strong enemies and spared their lives, painstakingly searched for national liberation, and finally realized the long-awaited national liberation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

Ning Cai said that the TV series lasted five years from the creation of the script to the completion of the production, with a total investment of 60 million yuan. The drama has a grand narrative, spectacular scenes, touching stories, vivid characters, profound themes and well-produced productions, which can be described as one of the finest works of Inner Mongolia's ethnic theme TV series.

At present, the finished TV drama has been sent to the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for review, and the review work will be completed in the near future. But broadcasting is still a problem. He hoped that the relevant departments would attach importance to the main theme of film and television dramas with ethnic themes, and include works of historical, political, and practical significance in the repertoire of key gifts celebrating the 70 th anniversary of the founding of the autonomous region, and recommend them to CCTV for broadcast, so as to encourage the people of all nationalities in Inner Mongolia to love Inner Mongolia even more and strive to build Inner Mongolia well.

Ning Cai said that it is difficult to broadcast national theme film and television dramas, but he will not abandon filming because of this. He said that it is his "mission of the soul" to create national theme film and television dramas, carry forward the excellent national culture, and inherit the glorious history.

In order to tap more national film talents in Inner Mongolia, Ning Cai has jointly established the Genghis Khan Film Art Academy with the Xilin Gol League Vocational College. The Film School cooperates with the Moscow State Film Institute in Russia, and the professional teachers are all senior film professors in Moscow.

In 2017, the Genghis Khan Film Academy will enroll 240 students in Inner Mongolia with a college degree and a three-year academic system, including screenwriting, directing, acting, photography, fine arts, sound recording, composition, and animation. Every year, students will be organized to produce 20 internship short films, 2 long internship films, and 2 Chinese and foreign stage masterpieces.

"This land has nurtured me, and I have to do something meaningful for her." Ning Cai said.
