The hibiscus flower in the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Weishi: "The hibiscus flower at the end of the wood, the red calyx in the mountains." ” Later Shu monarch Meng Chang planted the walls of Chengdu with hibiscus: "Forty miles are splendid." ” There are also many poems describing furong: "Twenty-four cities of hibiscus flowers, Jinguan from the past to call prosperous." ”
Chengdu is named Furong City because of the hibiscus flower, referred to as Rongcheng for short. Furong for Chengdu, can be said to have originated for a thousand years, the Warring States have the god turtle skillfully painted "Furong City", the Tang Dynasty had Xue Tao made color notes with furong, and the Five Generations later Shu Emperor Meng Chang planted hibiscus flowers for the "Lady of Huarui"... The vicissitudes of the sea have never been far away. In 1983, the hibiscus flower was identified as the flower of Chengdu City. Flowers blossom and fall, Chengdu people's "Furong Autumn Dream" is not only rooted in Shudi, but also deeper rooted in the historical memory of the city.

In recent years, Wuhou District has planted sorghum and arborvitae hibiscus in major traffic arteries and street parks, such as Shunjiang Community Park, Airport Road East Extension Line, Gaoshengqiao Road, Huatai 5th Road, Wanxing Road, Xiangyun Road, Taipingyuan East Road and other places.

Tianfu Furong Garden is an ecological cultural tourism park with the theme of Furong culture built by Wuhou District, and is also the park with the largest variety of Hibiscus, the largest single garden and the highest degree of scientific and technological integration in China. There are 200 acres of four-season flower islands in the park, 1 million net red flowers, more than 300 kinds of plants, and also has 100 acres of original ecological eucalyptus forest area and 100,000 square meters of large lawns. About "Hibiscus", about the park city, about the scene of a happy and beautiful life, it will be slowly opened like a curtain in the Talent Hibiscus Garden. The city's 110,000 square meters of hibiscus flower landscape and 36 hibiscus flower scenes (flower paths) are the gorgeous blooms of oriental aesthetics.
