Because it is located in the river channel of Luhun Reservoir, in order to prevent flood safety, the staff of relevant departments constantly persuades onlookers to leave.
Wang Xiheng, the First Geological and Mineral Survey Institute of the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources of Henan Province, told the Dahe Daily reporter that after the expert team's evaluation, the landform is the prototype of the Danxia landform, "strictly speaking, it does not belong to the Danxia landform, but it is rare to show such a landform in Luoyang, which belongs to the basin area."
According to reports, the cause of Danxia landform is a unique type of landform formed by the continuous erosion, transport, abrasion and weathering of red sand and boulders along the vertical joint surface under the action of water. In China, Danxia landforms are relatively concentrated in the southeast, southwest and northwest regions.
As the prototype of this landform, it is the first time it has appeared in Luoyang. Why did this unique landscape appear?
Liang Tianyou of the First Geological and Mineral Survey Institute of the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources of Henan Province explained that this "stone" washed out by the bottom of the Yihe River and which everyone was very curious about belonged to the Sanmenxia-Lushan fault zone, the geological relics deposited in the fault basin, and the lithology belonged to the sand conglomerate, and the white material inside was caused by uneven oxidation when the rock was formed.
Wang Xiheng suggested that the local government can protect it as a geological relic and a popular science education base, "This kind of rock has no special value in mineralogy, and the masses should pay attention not to destroy it when they come here to watch." ”
