Read a book on the water
What kind of experience is it?
Tranquil paradise, the fragrance of books
This is the Qingpu Library
Step on the waves of books
Pick up the pearls of knowledge
The good is like the beauty of the water
The place where the ink fragrance remains
Sixty years of Qingpu treasure
Treasured in the belly of thousands of autumns
The Qingpu Library was designed by the famous architectural designer Ma Qingyun and his team, and the scenic philosophy of the Chinese garden that can be considered, tourable and inhabited was integrated into the design of this scheme. The building is seen as part of the surrounding landscape extending towards the center of the lake, thus forming a green peninsula. This continuous green belt increases the elevation in the middle of the lake, undulating and changing, thus forming a building space of different heights that can be used, while forming a visual center around the lake.
This library is special. Its roof is a 4,000 square meters of open sky garden, distributed in the first and second floors of the lending room and newspaper reading room using a large area of high floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the natural daylight fully shine into the room, not only to avoid the visual fatigue caused by artificial lighting, but also to let the reading into the surrounding environment, so that nature and humanities integration, the reader into the poetic reading realm.
The library has special borrowing rooms for adults, children, parents and children, as well as a reference reading room for special collections of literature resources. The information reflecting the traditional culture and historical style of Qingpu and ancient Wuyue regions is very sufficient, with distinct Jiangnan characteristics. The library has been collecting and sorting out the works of Qingpu historical celebrities, and has collected more than 300 documents of 85 kinds of Qingpu historical celebrities from the Ming Dynasty to the liberation before and after the liberation, some of which are reproductions, a small number of Qing carved texts and Republic of China documents, and also have their special research value.
