On July 19, 2021, Cheng Guoping, Commissioner for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Tajikistan Ambassador to China Sayyid Zoda to exchange views on bilateral relations between China and Tajikistan, counter-terrorism security cooperation, and cross-departmental and cross-regional security cooperation mechanisms.

Cheng Guoping said that in recent years, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Rahmon, China-Tajikistan relations have achieved strategic upgrading and rapid development. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi's successful visit to Tajikistan a few days ago has injected new impetus into the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to communicate and cooperate closely with Tajikistan to further strengthen the construction of the China-Tajikistan dual-cross mechanism, deepen counter-terrorism and security cooperation, and safeguard the security interests of the two countries.

Sayid Zorda said that tajikistan highly appreciates the comprehensive strategic partnership between Tajikistan and China and the high-level cooperation between the two countries in the field of security, and is willing to make good use of cooperation platforms such as the double-cross mechanism with China to jointly deal with threats to peripheral security, jointly combat the "three forces", and maintain regional peace and stability.
