Recently, NATO has continuously strengthened its military deployment in Eastern Europe, especially the US military has repeatedly sent F-22 stealth fighters, posing a major threat to Russia's national security. In order to effectively track the US F-22 fighter, Russia began to equip the Western Military District with the most advanced "Sky-Y" mipo radar.

We know that the most important feature of the fifth-generation aircraft is stealth performance, through the design of a unique shape, the application of absorbing materials and other measures to reduce the detectability of modern air defense radar, fire control radar, to improve the combat performance of the fighter. The F-22 has long been known as the "nightmare" of the defender, it not only has unparalleled super stealth performance, but also has supersonic flight cruise capabilities, can easily break through the opponent's air defense system, so that the mainstream radar in the air defense network is completely useless.

The stealth design of the fifth-generation aircraft is mainly aimed at some specific bands of radar, such as the f-22 fighter has a better stealth effect on the centimeter wave radar, and the effect is greatly reduced in the face of the meter wave radar, which makes the meter wave radar have the natural advantage of "appearing" the stealth fighter, and assumes the heavy responsibility of anti-stealth fighter. In addition, the mipolar radar has reduced atmospheric decay and a long detection distance, which can detect targets hidden in the woods. Therefore, the Mibo radar has taken on the heavy responsibility of anti-stealth fighters, and the new generation of anti-stealth radar "Sky-y" equipped by the Russian army this time is developed according to this idea.

Traditional two-coordinate meter-wave radar, such as the Russian p-14 "High King" radar, can only provide distance and azimuth information of air targets, and cannot provide altitude data. In order to overcome this shortcoming, the "Sky-y" radar adopts a mobile meter wave three-coordinate scheme, which has both ranging and altimetry functions, which can not only provide altitude information independently, but also obtain azimuth and angle measurement accuracy, effectively solving the problem of low elevation angle altimetry.

In terms of hardware design, the "Sky-y" radar adopts an inverted "t" antenna array structure to overcome the problem of insufficient high accuracy of traditional meter-wave radar with low elevation angle measurement, but the volume and weight of the radar will also increase. In terms of software design, "Sky-y" adopts digital processing signals, and uses the new method of "time-space" processing technology in the altimeter, which better solves the shortcomings of traditional meter-wave radar, makes the radar have good low elevation airspace coverage and accurate measurement performance, and effectively improves the monitoring range and detection accuracy of the radar.

Conventional meter-wave radar is susceptible to the influence of its surroundings, such as strong electromagnetic interference. The "Sky-Y" radar has made a breakthrough in anti-jamming, it can accurately identify, measure and track stealth aircraft in high-intensity electronic countermeasures, and transmit target information to air defense systems or automated command systems in order to accurately shoot down targets. The installation of the "Sky-y" radar shows that the Russian side has overcome the technical difficulty of anti-jamming.

Another outstanding feature of the "Sky-Y" radar is its high detection power, which can timely track various flying targets at an altitude of 75 kilometers and 600 kilometers, including stealth aircraft, cruise missiles, small aircraft and hypersonic ballistic missiles, and can use the advanced friend or foe identification system to determine the nationality of the target and automatically connect to the command system of each unit. In addition, the "Sky-y" is equipped with an automated adaptation system with high tactical performance, which can efficiently monitor the air situation at hundreds of kilometers around the clock, so that the "invisible killer" has nowhere to hide.
