Haikou, 6 Jan (Reporter Ding Ping) A few days ago, the First Intermediate People's Court of Hainan Province sentenced Fu Taosheng to 6 years' imprisonment and a fine of 700,000 yuan for accepting bribes.

Fu Taosheng, a former vice mayor of Wenchang City, was criminally detained on July 9, 2015, and arrested on July 23, 2015, on suspicion of accepting bribes.

After trial, the First Intermediate People's Court found that Fu Taosheng helped 12 project contractors to seek benefits during his tenure as director of the Wenchang Municipal Water Affairs Bureau, director of the Wenchang Municipal Development and Reform Bureau, director of the Wenchang Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and vice mayor of the Wenchang Municipal People's Government, and received a total of 2.391 million yuan in property.

The First Intermediate People's Court held that defendant Fu Taosheng took advantage of his position to illegally accept 2.391 million yuan, and his conduct constituted the crime of accepting bribes.
