Activision released a trailer for the Call of Duty Vanguard campaign, with the official caption: This battle... Very important. Every story has its origins, and every hero has its origins.
The game's campaign story will take place during and after World War II, and the main characters include Sergeant Arthur Kingsley and the members of his special squad: demolition expert Lucas Riggs, pilot Wade Jackson, Russian sniper Polina Petrova and Kingsley's right-hand man Richard Webb.
In addition, the film shows another group of Germans trying to seize power and establish the "Fourth Reich" after the fall of Hitler.

Developed by Sledgehammer, the game is set during World War II. The campaign mode has four protagonists from the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia, including north Africa, the East-West Front in Europe, and the Pacific Theater; the multiplayer mode debuts with 16 6v6 maps and 4 2v2 maps; with Treyarch's assistance, the game will continue to use the zombie mode of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.
