Wild catfish are delicious and are coveted by many anglers, so how to catch wild catfish? Let's take a look at it with you!

1. Habits
Catfish, weak vision, by smell and tentacle hunting, the requirements for water quality is not very high, even dirty water can survive, fish is sensitive, if there is a fishing net nearby, then it will shrink in the mud pit for a long time, about 3 to 5 days or so, it is difficult to catch catfish.
2. Suitable fishing time
The hotter the catfish, the greater the feeding. In the spring, it begins to be active foraging; after winter, it lurks in deep water, sludge or caves for the winter, not moving or eating. At normal temperatures, catfish can be fished day and night, preferably at night. Cloudy and cloudy days, drizzling rain, three or four winds or two or three days after a thunderstorm are good times to fish for catfish. The sun is shining, there is no cloud, and there is no wind, which is not suitable for catfish fishing.
3. Fishing spots
Catfish have a wide range of distribution, mainly living in the middle and lower layers of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, pits and ponds, often active in the coastal zone, mostly hidden in grass, under stones or deep water during the day, frequent foraging activities at night, often hunting on the shore. Therefore, during the day, you can fish in dense aquatic grass, underwater rocks or deep water, and at night, you can fish on the gravel shore.
In the spring, the weather is warmer, fishing in the sunny shoals; in the summer heat, turn to the shade of the river bay to fish; after the autumn weather turns cold, catfish generally roost in deep water, and catfish can generally be caught on deep water rods. Put the sluice dam, down the backwater bay, the water is muddy, and catfish generally feed here.
Places that are not suitable for fishing: the water surface is calm, the bottom of the river is a section of fine sand, there are more pebbles, which is not conducive to the hidden place of catfish; the place where the water is turbulent.
4. Fishing tackle
The rod for catfish fishing should be strong and the tip of the rod should be hard. Thick line large hook, fishing hook should be selected with a long hook handle, so as not to be sharpened by catfish sharp teeth to break the fishing line.
The hand rod is 4.5 or 5.4 meters; the main line is above no. 6, and the sub-line is above no. 4 (about 5 cm long); the fish hook is 12 to 14; the fish float is used to carry a luminous rod; the lead bite is on the sub-line.
5. Bait
Catfish is a carnivorous fish, the amount of food is large, mostly small fish as the main food, such as meal strips, crucian carp, goby, wheat ear fish, carp, loach, etc., but also eat small shrimp and aquatic insects, mainly to swallow. The live earthworm is the best bait for catfish fishing. Pork liver, lamb liver, chicken and duck intestines, beef and mutton, etc., can also be cut into loach-sized strips. Grasshoppers, grasshoppers, ketos, tree worms, grass worms, praying mantises and moths, these bugs need to live as bait.
From spring to early summer, it is better to catch catfish with earthworms, of course, small shrimp can also be used as bait, and in the middle of summer to autumn, it is suitable for fishing with mussel meat and insects as bait.
The earthworm uses a larger whole upper hook to penetrate from the earthworm's neck and out on the opposite side, and then the earthworm is circled in a circle, and then penetrated and penetrated until the tail. The tail of the earthworm is left 1 cm, allowing its head and tail to move and remain active. Be careful not to break the earthworm.
6. Fishing method
Wild catfish is very cunning, after biting the hook basically want to run away, so when it bites the hook and runs back, it must immediately raise the rod to pull the fish out of the water, must be fierce and fast. Here are some of the catfish fishing methods shared by some anglers, you can learn to understand.
1. Night fishing method of throwing line
With forty or fifty meters of thick fishing line, the lead fell on the front hook in the back. Tie four or five large hooks at intervals of about 0.5 meters. Tie a wooden stick (when using a fishing rod) to the other end of the fishing line, insert it on the shore, and let the line go. Fishing bait with large earthworms, not fish floating. The fishing point is selected at the inlet, and the backwater bay is better. Take the hook in the evening and collect the fish the next morning.
2. Sunken bottom fishing method
In the steep and deep water on the shore, the underwater is rocky and cavernous. Use an eight-meter hard rod, a thick fishing line, a large fishing hook, and a heavy lead drop. The big green earthworm makes bait. Make the bait hook sink to the bottom of the water, or shake the hook bait slightly up and down to enhance the lure. When the hand feels heavy and the rod is moving, the pole can be lifted.
3. Stream fishing
Short rods with hard tips, large hooks with thick lines. Upstream water rises, or on rainy days, in the shallows of the stream, hook them with tree worms without floating.
4. Rod fishing method
With spotted bamboo, one meter two three can be. Bait with live loach. The hook passes through the back, and the tip of the hook is bare and there is no fear. No need to fall and drift, and plunge diagonally into the shore before sunset. You must let the fishing food stick to the surface of the water, and keep fighting in the water. Catfish come to feed at night and swallow in one bite. Because the elasticity of the bamboo is good, it is difficult to decouple. Dozens of sticks can be inserted at a time, and the best season is mid-summer.
5. Trolling method
After dark, throw the fishing spot to the center of the river, slowly drag the hook bait back after sinking to the bottom, and if you find that the fish drifts abnormally, you can lift the rod. Fish until 11 o'clock at night, take a break, and fish again at 2 o'clock.
6. Nest fishing method
Wine bubble millet first hit the nest, luring small fish into the nest. Catfish find small schools of fish and come and swallow them. Hit the big fish hook and the 0.5 mm thick fishing line with a big drift. Bait is made with small loach, or large earthworms. If the blisters in the nest are densely packed upwards, the catfish enters the nest and can be fished on a rod. When you see the fish drifting and sinking, you can raise the rod.
