In order to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and strive to build a high-quality rule of law work team with both ability and political integrity, in accordance with the deployment requirements of the Party Committee of the Provincial Public Security Department on carrying out the all-police training competition, from October 21 to 22, the provincial public security legal police criminal business skills training competition was held in Wujiang, Suzhou.
Municipal public security bureaus throughout the province and the public security bureau of Nanjing Lukou International Airport formed 14 representative teams of police officers and full-time and part-time legal personnel from the legal department to participate in the competition. The competition invited Chen Yaming, vice president of the First Criminal Division of the Jiangsu Provincial High People's Court, Wang Min, a fourth-level senior procurator of the First Procuratorial Department of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Procuratorate, Li Chuan, professor of the Law School of Southeast University and vice president of the Jiangsu Provincial Criminal Research Society, Miao Wensheng, director of the Investigation Department and professor of the Jiangsu Police Officers College, Huang Xuwei, associate professor of the Law School of Nanjing University, Xue Huogen, member of the Criminal Business Committee of the All-China Lawyers Association, and Ren Jie, director of the Criminal Law Business Committee of the Jiangsu Lawyers Association, as judges.
The competition includes four links: opening argument, offensive and defensive session, free debate, and summary statement, and the debate topics are centered on legal hot spots such as extortion and fraud, and take the form of simulating the focus of dispute in the trial of criminal litigation cases, actively planning the reform of the criminal procedure system centered on trial, and enhancing judicial credibility.
Li Jianbing, political commissar of the Legislative Affairs Corps of the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department, Fan Zhifang, member of the Party Committee of the Suzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau and head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Municipal Public Security Bureau appointed by the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Zhou Guoqiang, deputy chief of the Legislative Affairs Corps of the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department, and other leaders came to the scene for guidance.

The legal department of the Provincial Public Security Department attached great importance to the competition, and organized the training of all personnel and the selection of all levels in the early stage. It is hoped that through the competition, outstanding talents will be discovered, add strength to the development of public security, and test the effectiveness of military training of public security legal departments in various localities. The format of this debate is novel, which fully reflects the spirit of unity, cooperation and win-win results, and I hope that all the contestants can play the best level in the competition, fully display the style of the public security legal police, and work together in the future work to make greater contributions to the cause of public security and legal system.

Suzhou public security will take this competition as a starting point, aim at higher standards, establish higher pursuits, further grasp the law enforcement practice of the whole police, build a high-quality and excellent public security iron army, and provide more powerful support and guarantee for promoting the high-quality development of public security work.

This competition fully demonstrated the spirit of colleagues on the legal front of Jiangsu public security who dared to work hard and dare to compete for the lead, broadened the thinking of fair law enforcement, innovated the mode of ability training, and cultivated talents for the construction of the rule of law. It is hoped that the players will return to their respective posts after the game, continue to maintain their ideals, beliefs and value pursuits on the field, and truly apply the new ideas in the debate to the legal work.
After the competition, Chen Yaming, Wang Min, Li Chuan, Ren Jie and other judges commented on the performance of the debaters.
During the competition, the debaters made solid arguments, cracked the questions meticulously, concluded the argument completely, analyzed the cases meticulously and deeply, and made orderly but sharp statements, which fully demonstrated the good mental outlook and superb professional level of the public security and legal police. In the end, after the fierce preliminary round and the semi-finals, the three representative teams from the Suzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau and the Taizhou Municipal Public Security Bureau won the first, second and third places. Next month, the three teams will represent the three lawyer teams selected by the Public Security and The Provincial Lawyers Association for the final.
