The Brazilian national team announced the initial roster of 40 people in the centennial Copa America, and three foreign players from the Chinese Super League were shortlisted, namely Augusto of Beijing Guoan, Gil of Shandong Luneng and Teixeira of Jiangsu Suning.
Teixeira joined Jiangsu Suning this year for a transfer fee of 50 million euros and has been shortlisted despite a goal drought in nine consecutive games.
