Brazil announces Copa America 40-man squad: Teixeira and Guoan Luneng will be shortlisted

The Brazilian national team announced the initial roster of 40 people in the centennial Copa America, and three foreign players from the Chinese Super League were shortlisted, namely Augusto of Beijing Guoan, Gil of Shandong Luneng and Teixeira of Jiangsu Suning.

Teixeira joined Jiangsu Suning this year for a transfer fee of 50 million euros and has been shortlisted despite a goal drought in nine consecutive games. Teixeira has not yet made a record appearance for Brazil, and it is not known whether he will be finally shortlisted for the 23-man list this time. Relatively speaking, Gill and Augusto's positions are more secure, and they participated in the last training camp and the World Preliminary Round.

Suning's Ramirez, Evergrande's Paulinho and Gaulat, and Elkeson, who has performed well in SIPG this season, have not been shortlisted. In June, the Centennial Copa America will be held in the United States, and the final 23-man squad of Brazil will be announced on May 5.
