Whether your dog was bought from a pet store or picked up from the side of the road, in the process of taking care of it, regular deworming is very important, for puppies, adult dogs, pregnant female dogs, their deworming plans are not exactly the same, the relevant knowledge we understand together.
1【Why should you deworm dogs】
There are parasites on and inside dogs, and there are many kinds. The presence of parasites can seriously affect the health of dogs, affect the growth and development of puppies, and also create conditions for the invasion of other pathogens. Some owners have always had a misunderstanding about deworming, thinking that my dog does not need to deworm if he does not go out, in fact, the eggs will be attached to the owner's shoes, body, etc. to take home, so even if the dog does not leave the house, it needs to be dewormed regularly.
In addition, if the owner does not understand the need for deworming and leaves it alone, serious cases can lead to the death of the dog and even to humans and children. Therefore, it is very important to deworm dogs.

2【What insects are used to drive the dog?】 】
Some of the names of the parasites are not unfamiliar to parents, but some are uncommon and may not be clear to parents. There are two types of parasites, one is an in vivo parasite and the other is an in vitro parasite.
These parasites are mainly based on sucking nutrients from the dog's body, causing diseases while seizing the nutrition of the dog's body, and may also infect some deadly diseases.
Parasites in the body:
Roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, heartworms, lung nematodes, canine lung trematodes, tapeworms, canine trichinella, liver flukes, toxoplasma gondii, canine black fever, canine eye worms, canine babesia, esophageal nematodes, canine tongueworms, amoeba, trypanosoma echidae, coccidiosis, etc.
Extra in vi virulous parasites:
Scabies mites, demodex mites, itchy ear mites, fleas, hard ticks, lung ticks, lice, soft ticks, etc.
There are four common digestive tract parasites in dogs: nematodes, including roundworms, pinworms, whipworms, hookworms and so on. Tapeworm; coccidiosis; pear-shaped flagella.
3【Dogs infected with parasitic diseases and symptoms】
1. Roundworms:
Most of the pregnant female dogs pass the baby worms to the fetus through the placenta, can also be infected by mouth, puppies have a higher infection rate, because roundworms will take in nutrients, so that the dog is stunted, resulting in diarrhea, vomiting, flatulence and other symptoms, may also block the bile ducts, penetrate the intestinal wall, or cause neurological symptoms, etc.,
In addition, the babyworm of the roundworm will pass through the intestinal wall and spread to various tissues of the body, including liver, lungs, kidneys and other serious diseases that cause ascaria pneumonia, and may also be transferred to the fetus, causing serious infection of the fetus or newborn, or even death, and the owner can judge whether the dog has been infected with roundworms from whether the dog has suddenly lost weight and beer belly.
2. Whipworm:
Mostly through oral infection, the eggs will be discharged with the dog feces, the dog infected with the whipworm will discharge bright red and smelly diarrhea, the infected puppies will be stunted and anemic; when the number of parasites is large, even the mucosal blood vessels will be damaged and cause diarrhea, even blood diarrhea, and will also cause cecalitis and colitis.
3. Hookworm:
Hookworms are very small but suck blood, and symptoms vary depending on the individual and the degree of infection; mild cases may result in wasting, vomiting, diarrhea, and mucus and blood in feces; severe dogs may die of acute anemia or other complications through placental, oral and skin infections.
4. Tapeworms:
Worms will absorb a large amount of dog nutrition, so that the dog malnutrition, dry and dull coat, if the insect body is too much, it will block the intestine, infected tapeworm dog, may appear in the or feces of rice grain size will stretch and squirm segments, dogs will often have eye droppings.
5. Coccidiosis:
Dogs eat into the eggs and infected with parasitic diseases, common symptoms are anorexia, diarrhea, weight loss, dogs often have foul-smelling yellow water-like diarrhea, diarrhea is a large number of spray out, in addition, puppies have a more serious disease, often causing catarrhal or hemorrhagic enteritis, bloody diarrhea and death.
6. Pear-shaped flagella:
Dogs infected with this disease often have diarrhea, and the poop that comes out is from softer poop, muddy poop, jelly-like poop that is pulled like chicken poop, and even oily and water poop, and sometimes there is blood mixed in the poop.
4【Puppy Deworming Program】
Puppies are best dewormed for the first time at three to six weeks of age, once a week for four weeks. After that, deworm once a month. Until six months.
5【Adult Dog Deworming Program】
If your dog is an adult dog and is active outside a lot, or may come into contact with other dogs, it is recommended to repel insects every three months.
For pregnant female dogs, it is recommended to drive insects once during mating, one week before childbirth, and three to four weeks after childbirth.
6【Health check before deworming】
Before deworming, if possible, it is best to help the dog do a physical health examination, the owner can take fresh feces, (or the doctor can get fresh stool from the table when measuring the temperature), and check the doctor for eggs.
However, it is recommended that regardless of whether there is an egg checked, as long as the dog is in good physical condition, deworming can also be used as a routine health care action.
7【Choose the right anthelmintic drug】
Good anthelmintics must be able to repel all the intestinal parasites in dogs. At the same time, it should also be side effect-free, and dogs should also like it.
In general, the intestinal parasites of dogs can grow from eggs to adults in 2-3 months. If the insect is dewormed more than once every 3 months, the parasite larvae in the environment may infect the dog, and may also threaten the owner's physical health.
Misconception 1:
My pet has no worms
Many people think that their kittens and puppies never go out and will not come into contact with other kittens and puppies, so there must be no parasites in the body. In fact, because animals have the habit of lying on the ground and licking their bodies, it is inevitable to suffer from parasitic diseases in the body - even pets who never go out will also suffer from parasitic diseases. Why? Eggs returning from public toilets may stick to the soles of shoes and be brought into the home, indirectly touching pets and infecting them.
Misconception 2:
Deworming is done once a year
Deworming drugs are different from vaccines, and the deworming effect can only be maintained for 3 months with regular deworming to prevent parasitic diseases in the body.
Misconception 3:
There are no worms in the feces, and there are no worms in the pet's body.
There are no bugs in the pet's usual feces, and even after deworming, the pet has not yet seen the parasite, does it mean that there are no bugs in the pet's body? In fact, the parasite may not develop into an adult, or spread around in the form of eggs. So "didn't see" ≠ "no." It is absolutely not possible to deworm the parasite without regular deworming just because the parasite has never been seen in the feces.
Misconception 4:
Pets have no symptoms and do not need to be dewormed
Deworming is just as important as vaccines! Most of the time, deworming, like vaccines, is preventive – it's too late when symptoms appear! You know, intestinal obstruction requires surgery to be healed, and blindness is an irreparable injury, whether it is for pets or family members, regular preventive deworming is the responsible practice.
