I actually rocked between Sony's UDA-1 and Onkyo's DAC-1000 for a long time. The reason for finally determining the onkyo dac-1000 is actually very simple, everything starts from the needs. UDA-1 with ear amplifier, with amplifier, with dsd, but I don't need these, I just need the decoding function. The more features, the more complex it is! And precisely as a decoder, the onkyo dac-1000 is too much stronger than the UDA-1. There's also a reason why it looks better, smaller and more compact than the UDA-1.

But the sound quality performance written today is based on the akg k701+fu32 electron tube lug put down (the big steamed bun generation is just a cameo), the sound source is cd, through coaxial access to onkyo dac-1000. The eris e8 is noisy at night, and the headphone system can better listen to the details.
The tube is still beautiful when it lights up. If you don't listen, it's quite eye-catching just to see. The overall resolution is excellent, and you can hear a lot of details. The sound is clean and transparent, with clear and delicate layering. The overall tone is relatively neutral, restrained and soft. High-frequency moisture, medium and high frequency ear grabbing, low frequency diving is enough. At the same time, the analysis is excellent and the details are rich, but it is not messy. Like a master player, the performance is always calm and confident, and all kinds of music have a gorgeous sublimation under its interpretation. This reflects onkyo's understanding of music and the tuning made according to its understanding, which is very gripping and comfortable.
The onkyo sound has always been old-fashioned in terms of treble, unlike the high-resolution perversion of the iron triangle and Panasonic's new high-resolution voices. It is all neutral and bright, youthful style. And in the DAC1000 is more of a performance of modern sound. That is, more unrestrained, open but also a little restrained. The high frequencies are soft, the details are clearly layered, and the control of transients is relatively better. The difference becomes more pronounced when expressing the high frequencies of bright strings and percussion. Even the tube lugs put down the analytic force and transient control are very good. It is indeed enchanting.
The dac-1000's medium frequency part of the analytical force junction is also excellent, and the sense of position is clear. And like the singer's mouth shape, the sense of form can be very well expressed clearly. But there are also some mild tooth sounds. The vocals are not deliberately prominent or dim. In addition to life, the instruments of the mid-range are equally outstanding. The performance of the violin's higher pitch, the upper limit of the viola, the treble range of the flute, the clarinet, the oboe, the lower range of the piccolo, cymbals, triangles, etc. can only be described as perfect. It is all a calm and appropriate performance. Everything under the k701 is so just right and impressive.
Dac-1000 low frequency performance is good, not exaggerated nor convergent, analytical, dynamic and sense of volume is enough. However, under the control of the tube lug, the transient is slightly worse. With a variety of low-frequency dense instruments, it is very easy to paste. But the low frequency in general popular songs as a foil for emotion is already good enough, whether it is the intensity and the sense of volume. Under the performance of drumming and other instruments, it has been possible to show the vibration of the drum skin relatively clearly, and the layers are rich. But the problem is still on the headphones, the 701 + electron tube ear amp collocation is really not able to give more luxury hope on the low frequency, slow rhythm music is at ease, but once the rhythm is fast, the control of the low frequency will inevitably not keep up. But this is by no means a problem with the DAC1000, I promise! Under eris e8 this is not a thing.
First of all, thank you all for your patience. The onkyo dac-1000 is an unusually unpopular decoding device that has been launched for about 5 years. But its design is not outdated even now. There is almost no short board except for not supporting dsd (this is not called a short board for people like me who use cd as the source). If you only talk about sound, the evaluation in the island country is no different from the 500,000 yen pole dac in Europe and the United States. As a device that is now under 3w yen, the price-performance ratio is already invincible.
But it is not completely without weaknesses, such as its 100v voltage. Domestic use must be equipped with transformers, which brings inconvenience to users.
Finally, I would like to say that many people talk about sound quality first reaction is whether the headphones are good or bad, in fact, this is unscientific. Sound quality is good or bad is the overall effect of a system, from the source, ear to the headphones under such an overall system can be discussed which is good and which is bad. In fact, this is a collocation problem, and in this set of collocations, the most important thing to deal with is the sound source. Under certain definitions, the decoder should be classified under the device of the source. It is the most worthwhile investment in sound source equipment, far more than amplifiers and speaker headphones.
