Today, Grand Tony introduces a Broadway play about the British royal family - "Charles III". This is a fictional story of Prince Charles's succession to the throne.

As early as the night of the premiere of "Charles III" (November 1, 2015), the audience experienced the beauty of the British Empire's clothing. The "honor guard" lined up the two sides of the theater's gate, their red dresses were proficient in color, like the red carpet under the feet of celebrities and distinguished guests; the bearskin top hats on their heads were hairy, making people feel like they had come to the British Emperor in an instant...

Mike Barlett is the screenwriter of the political drama, and Charles III has received many accolades from its release. The New York Times called it a "fine product." The play is written in the neo-Shakespearean rhymeless poem, with five steps to suppress the Yange to show the character. The script assumes that after Prince Charles ascended the throne, Parliament issued a new law restricting the ultra vires of the British media, but Charles refused to grant royal permission to the new law, thus leading to a constitutional crisis...

Audiences are not unfamiliar with the characters in the play, but the screenwriter gives them Shakespearean character traits. Prince William begins as a coordinating character, but later becomes defensive and full of tricks. The actor, Oliver Chris, is remarkably similar to Prince William. Princess Kate (Lydia Wilson) becomes the scheming Lady Macbeth. Prince Harry (Richard Goulding) has red hair and a wayward personality. Princess Diana dressed up like a ghost, promised her ex-husband and Zongzi that they would be the "greatest kings".

At the same time, for Charles, the constitutional crisis is also questioning him personally and spiritually: Should the monarch be moral or conformist? Does democracy have an impact on the theocracy of monarchy? In the end, King Charles, believing himself to be the true representative of the British people, chose to expand the monarchy and dissolve parliament, but eventually had to accept the result of abdication...

This newly written drama has no lack of depth and heaviness in the jokes. The play previously won the Laurence Olivier Awards (equivalent to the UK's "Tony Awards") for Best New Play, and received five nominations in this year's Tony Award nominations. In Tony's view, this play that teases the Hearts of the Anglo-Saxons is set to win in the Tony Awards in June, so let's wait and see!
