Iron deficiency anemia is a common type of anemia caused by iron deficiency in the body that affects haemoglobin synthesis, and is more common in infants, young children, pregnant, and lactating women. After being diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia, many people fall into the misunderstanding of blind iron supplementation. So, how to effectively supplement iron?
Patients with iron deficiency anemia generally prefer oral iron therapy, such as ferrous succinate, ferrous sulfate, ferrous fumarate, ferrous lactate, polysaccharide iron complex, etc., in addition to polysaccharide iron complex, these drugs are suitable for taking after meals or meals, which have a small and easy to tolerate response to the gastrointestinal tract, and avoid drinking strong tea at the same time; if oral iron intolerance, poor compliance, malabsorption or poor efficacy, dextran injection therapy can be switched to dextran injection. At the same time as iron supplementation, the cause of iron deficiency anemia should also be sought, and the primary disease should be actively treated, such as iron deficiency anemia caused by menorrhagia should be adjusted menstruation, and parasitic infected patients should be dewormed.
In addition, iron deficiency anemia must also be combined with dietary structure adjustment to increase the intake and absorption of iron in the diet, such as eating more red meat (pigs, cattle, mutton) rich in heme iron and other foods.
