In 1356, Zhu Yuanzhang's soldiers attacked Jiqing in several ways, and the army took ten days to break through Jiqing, and Zhu Yuanzhang changed Jiqing to Yingtian (present-day Nanjing), which means: Shangying Providence. Later, Zhu Yuanzhang's fourth son, Zhu Di, became emperor and moved the capital to Beiping and renamed it Beijing.

In fact, Zhu Yuanzhang also intended to move the capital, and he also sent the crown prince Zhu Biao to Xi'an, Luoyang, Kaifeng and other places for field investigation. Zhu Biao occasionally felt a cold on the way back, fell seriously ill, and soon died of illness, and Zhu Yuanzhang had to give up!
The Ming Dynasty had two capitals in history, Beijing in Suncheon Province and Nanjing in Yingtianfu. Strictly speaking, there is also Zhu Yuanzhang's hometown of Fengyang, which is between Beijing and Nanjing, so it was called the Zhongdu of Daming at that time!
Zhu Yuanzhang was proclaimed emperor and changed his era name to Hongwu. To this day, there are hongwu roads in Nanjing and Fengyang to commemorate Zhu Yuanzhang!
