Video loading...

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the Republic, the Eighth Martyrs' Day will also be coming. Over the past one hundred years, generation after generation of Chinese Communists have stubbornly struggled and struggled unremittingly, and a large number of revolutionary martyrs who regard death as their homecoming, a large number of heroic figures who have stubbornly struggled, and a large number of advanced models who have devoted themselves selflessly have emerged. At this moment, our remembrance of the heroic martyrs is a deep tribute to the heroic martyrs who have sacrificed in modern times to strive for national independence, national prosperity and strength, and the happiness of the people, and it is also a protection and continuation of the spiritual roots of the Chinese nation.

Advocating heroes and remembering heroes and martyrs has always been the general secretary's affection and deeds. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: The Chinese nation has been able to continue to grow and develop through countless disasters, never because there is a savior, but because before the catastrophe, thousands of ordinary people stepped forward and moved forward generously!

Today, representatives from all walks of life in Shaanxi Province will solemnly hold a martyrs' public sacrifice ceremony at the Xi'an Martyrs' Cemetery. Xi'an Martyrs Cemetery was founded in 1952, covering an area of 264 acres, is the largest comprehensive martyrs' cemetery in our province. The park is home to 786 revolutionary martyrs, including "nine martyrs" such as Wang De'an, a revolutionary martyr who bravely took up his righteousness during the Great Revolution; Liu Guiwu and Xuanxia's father, national heroes in the War of Resistance Against Japan; Du Bincheng and Qin Fude, a combat hero in the War of Liberation; Hou Tianyou, one of the "Eight Warriors" in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea; and Zhang Hua, a heroic model of Lei Feng's style during the period of socialist construction. They are revolutionary martyrs who regard death as their homecoming, heroes who struggle tenaciously, and advanced models of selfless dedication... Over the past one hundred years, for the sake of national rejuvenation and the happiness of the people, we have gone forward and succeeded, poured out ideals with blood, and practiced faith with life, in exchange for today's splendid mountains and rivers and quiet years.

Only by inheriting the heroic wind and bones can we stand up the backbone of the Chinese nation; only by remembering the legacy of the heroic martyrs can we embrace a better future. Today, we are closer than at any time in history to the goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Remembrance, for remembrance, more inheritance. Every tribute to the heroic martyrs is a percussion of the original heart and an awakening of the spirit. On the new journey, the magnificent poems written by the heroes and martyrs with their lives are like a beacon illuminating the way forward for future generations. Let us once again set out resolutely in front of the monument created by the martyrs and forge ahead towards the grand goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
