  The Qatar Olympic team tweeted: "Abdalelah Haroun, a Qatar sprinter and world 400 million bronze medalist, passed away today. ”

  Track and field sprinters hold the Asian indoor record after winning the championship in 2015. Haroun was recruited from Sudan by Qatar as a young man and was qualified to represent them in February 2015.

  In April 2014, he recorded his first race in 45.74 seconds in the 400m in Doha, making him one of the world's most promising young sprinters.

  In February 2015, he announced his performance on the world stage with an Asian chamber record of 45.39 seconds in his next performance at XL Galan.

  It was also the third fastest junior athlete ever and the fastest indoor debut. A month later, Haroun set a best outdoor record of 44.68 seconds.

  This allowed him to win the April 2015 Arab Athletics Championships with ease, beating Egypt's Anas Beshel by almost a second.
