In order to greet the centenary of the founding of the Cpc and the 24th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, on the evening of June 13, the "Celebrating the Centenary of the Reunification" concert organized by the Hong Kong String Orchestra was held at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, attended by Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Leung Chung Yan, Chairman of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, and Yang Yirui, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong.
The first piece of music in the concert was "Chinese Overture" written by the famous composer Ye Guohui, and the original song was translated in a symphonic manner as the "March of the Volunteers", which was emotionally strong and shocking. Since the premiere of the 19th "Shanghai Spring" International Music Festival, the response has been enthusiastic and acclaimed, and it has performed in the Shanghai Radio Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of China, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and other performances, and the string version played in this concert is the world premiere.
Composed by Chinese-American composer Zhou Long, "Chinese Folk Songs" collects traditional folk songs from all over the world, based on folk oral music, retains the unique culture of all parts of the country, and allows the audience to feel the charm of China's traditional music. In addition, the song "Red Sun Eternity" regroups and arranges a number of classic Cantonese pop songs, showing the strong local pop culture of Hong Kong.
The patriotic song "I Love You China", composed by composer Zheng Qiufeng and lyricist Qu Chun, pushed the concert to a climax. The beautiful and long strings from the mountains and rivers of the motherland to the forest fields depict the spring, summer, autumn and winter of the great rivers and mountains, igniting the sincere and strong patriotic feelings of the audience, and also embodying the main theme of the "He Centennial Celebration Return" concert. The audience was still unsatisfied, and the string orchestra added "My Motherland and Me", which conveyed the connection between Hong Kong and the motherland that the blood is thicker than water to the hearts of every audience through string music. After the performance, the applause on the scene was thunderous and long-lasting. The applause lasted for nearly five minutes, and in full hospitality, the Hong Kong String Orchestra returned to the scene again, and the melody of "My Motherland and Me" was once again played.

Ms. Yao Jue, Artistic Director of the Hong Kong String Orchestra and member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of the Hong Kong District, said in an interview that the Hong Kong String Orchestra attaches great importance to traditional Chinese culture, using Western instruments and musical works to enable the audience to understand our Chinese culture, stimulate our patriotic feelings, and also understand the great achievements of our country's development through the works.
The Hong Kong String Orchestra was founded in 2013 by internationally renowned violinist Ms. Yao Jue, with Chan Wing Chi as its chairman. With the positioning of "Hong Kong music combining Chinese and Western music", the orchestra strives to grasp the unique advantages of Hong Kong, focuses on playing Chinese music with Western instruments, inherits and carries forward the traditional Chinese art and culture with creative techniques, reflects the characteristics of "foreign for Chinese use", and presents Hong Kong's unique popular culture.
