"The little monkey in the video is still a cub, and it actually smokes a lit cigarette!" What kind of keeper would smoke for his little monkeys? This operation is simply incredible! ”

Nandu reporter noticed that this controversial video showed a monkey sitting on a stool, crossed Erlang's legs, holding a lit cigarette in his mouth, the staff took the cigarette away after seeing it and said" "Who gave you the cigarette does not know that smoking is harmful to health", and then the monkey fell to the ground, the subtitles showed "Finished, on the head", "Smoking is harmful to health", the staff covered the monkey with a white cloth. Then, the staff woke the monkey up and brought food and said, "You play such a great act, give you a reward."

The short video account that posted the video was named "Hengshui Wildlife Park". Nandu reporter saw that as of now, the account has accumulated 720,000 fans on the relevant short video platform, and the content it publishes is mostly related to monkeys, such as feeding monkeys and interacting with monkeys through various means. The aforementioned "monkey smoking" video was removed shortly after the controversy.

On the afternoon of the 4th, blogger @Hua Chengcheng said that the relevant short video platform replied to him that regarding the release of wild animal hunting videos by "Hengshui Wildlife Park", the platform has made a 7-day ban on the account at the first time. The platform also said that the platform always cracks down on the use of wild animals to win eyeballs.

According to the official website information, Hengshui Wildlife Park is located in Wuyi County, Hengshui City, positioned as a national second-level wildlife park with wildlife protection, public education and leisure tourism as the main functions, and is both experiential, public welfare and popular science.

In response to the "monkey smoking" video, on November 6, a staff member of the zoo explained to the Nandu reporter, "The full video content is that the monkey smokes and falls to the ground, and then our staff says 'smoking is harmful to health'." In fact, we mean that smoking is harmful to health, but it is really inappropriate for us to use monkeys to express it. ”

The above-mentioned staff stressed that they did not let the monkey smoke, but just put the cigarette in the monkey's mouth and "swung it". "It's true that we use monkeys to make public service announcements, but our starting point is not to let monkeys smoke, the original intention is to advise everyone not to smoke." It said that at present, the local government has issued a rectification notice to the zoo, and the local forestry bureau, cultural tourism bureau and other departments have also put forward relevant rectification requirements for the animal, and stressed that animals cannot be used to attract attention.
