It has been in contact with astronomical telescopes for some time, and hundreds of models of astronomical telescopes from several manufacturers have been in contact with back and forth. At the request of friends, the three most popular brands on the market (StarTron, Boguan, and Baoshide) and entry-level telescopes are now reviewed and compared. This article is mainly aimed at the following three 80mm aperture astronomical telescopes, namely: Star Dragon Powerseeker 80eq, Boguan Skyhawk 80eq, Andrst 80eq.
Novice telescopes often pay attention to those specific parameters, such as aperture, focal ratio, extreme star, coating, etc., which are of course important parameters of astronomical telescopes, but we often ignore some important auxiliary accessories, which will seriously affect our stargazing experience if the quality is not good.
Those important parameters, there are many articles on the Internet, here we will not repeat it, the following mainly to talk about the four important factors that are very easy to be ignored by novices:
Metal focus holder
StarTron powerseeker80eq Aperture 80mm Focal Length 900 mm Dual Separation Achromatic Objective This is the data of the public, and there is nothing to see. Unlike other brands of telescopes, the focus seat is an all-metal structure, which is the only one of the three telescopes I chose to talk about today that uses a metal structure.
In observation activities, the focus seat is one of the most frequently used components. And after hanging a metal Barof multiplier or shooting camera, the weight of the far end increases, and the metal focus seat can maintain good rigidity, so that there is no restriction on observation and shooting activities.
Starfinder
Talking about the red dot starfinder, I feel that this thing is designed to be brainless, and it can even be said that the chicken ribs are incomparable. In itself, it is a difficult time to observe and find some dark stars or nebulae, the red dot starfinder does not have any amplification function for the brightness of the star point, and then passes a layer of red dot projection lenses with poor relative light transmittance. The stars are no longer traceable. It is a difficult problem for newbies to overcome.
Equatorial
Speaking of this equatorial instrument, the eq1 equatorial instrument can only be said to be called the equatorial instrument, and it can only be explained by haha for precision. I have a rough estimate of this, the tracking accuracy of the equator should not be higher than 70 arcseconds. This error is fatal to astrophotography and is unlikely to complete more than one minute of exposure shooting.
Finally, talking about the dangling aluminum alloy tripod, the solid combination of the telescope equatorial meter and the tripod is an excellent support for telescope shooting observation, so the importance of choosing a tripod with solid work and a stable chassis is self-evident. Otherwise, when looking at the stars, the stars in the field of vision will become throbbing fireflies.
There is no difference in the visual capabilities of the three brands of telescopes, which can observe all Messier objects and most of the planets in the series. Only the Celestial Shooting can meet the basic requirements of the Baoshide 80eq, the star is slightly inferior, and boguan is the second.
Boguan Tianying is the introductory series of boguan manufacturers equatorial ceremony telescope, Boguan tianying 80eq compared to the design of other manufacturers, there is no advantage to look for. The only thing that uses a 5*24 optical starfinder mirror is not high, but it is still more convenient than the red dot starfinder for the star hunting process. In my many maintenance of this model of telescope, I feel that the coating is a little worse than the attachment of Startron, although the coating characteristics of the two objectives are almost the same.
Sorted by price/performance requirements: Boguan Preferred, StarLong and Baoshide are slightly inferior.
Here I would like to highlight: Bostey 80eq. The telescope uses a double-separated achromatic objective, the only telescope using an eq3 equatorial meter and a steel tripod, and overall this mirror can achieve a balance, which is the most worthwhile of the three astronomical telescopes in this review.
