She is Chen Yalan, director of the Xinzheng Village Clinic in Dongping Town.
When I met Chen Yalan, she was treating patients. She sometimes carefully observes the patient's symptoms and sometimes patiently listens to the patient's description of the condition.
The village clinic, as the "nerve endings" of the medical and health service system, is the closest place to the villagers to see a doctor. In order to facilitate the villagers to see a doctor, Chen Yalan often has to give up her rest time, and sometimes when the villagers are unwell, she also has to rush to the villagers' homes as soon as possible so that they can get timely treatment.

In addition to the diagnosis and treatment in the clinic on weekdays, Chen Yalan also went to various villages and households to carry out screening for hypertension, diabetes, and mental illness, and did a good job of signing up family doctors, completing four quarters of key population follow-up, and so on. At present, there are more than 4470 people in Xinzheng Village, 152 poor households, more than 710 people, as well as about 308 patients with hypertension, more than 80 diabetic patients, and about 15 mentally ill people. Our current work is mainly to check them up four times a year, follow up, guide them to use drugs, and also do related organizational materials. The workload is relatively large and hard, but since we have done this job, we must continue to do it and serve them conscientiously.
