In 2021, the 52nd Japan Nebula Awards announced the list of winners. Liu Cixin's "Three-Body 2: Dark Forest" won the "Overseas Long Story Department (Novel)".
Founded in 1970, the Nippon Nebula Awards (Japanese: Hoshimoku Award) is a Japanese Science Fiction Literature Award that is held once a year and is voted by participants in the Japan Science Fiction Convention to select winners from the science fiction works that have been completed in the previous year. In addition to novels, the Nebula Awards also present awards for media (anime or film), manga, and art (illustrator).
The award ceremony will be held at the 60th Japan SF Congress on August 21. The "Japan SF Congress" is a Japanese science fiction convention, which is an annual conference for Japanese science fiction enthusiasts.
It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that Liu Cixin has won the "Japan Nebula Award". In 2020, Liu Cixin won the "Overseas Long Story Department (Novel)" at the 51st Japan Nebula Award for "The Three-Body Problem".
