A few days ago, Douban released the 2020 annual movie list, of which the ten most anticipated Chinese films in 2021 are "Detective Chinatown 3", "Assassination of a Novelist", "Swim Until the Sea Turns Blue", "Secret Visitor", "Deep Sea", "Samurai Order", "Love Song 1980", "More Than Endless", "Poetry Weary eyes" and "Moses on the Plains".
As a Hong Kong film lover, I also have my own list of expectations, that is, the top ten most anticipated Hong Kong movies in 2021. (Ranked in no particular order)
1. "Band of Seven"
Some time ago, Zhang Yimou's "One Second" was released, which was a love letter he wrote to the movie, then "The Band of Seven" is Du Qifeng, Xu Ke, Xu Anhua, Lin Lingdong, Tan Jiaming, Hong Jinbao and Yuan Heping's love letters to Hong Kong films.
The original name of the film was "Eight and a Half Parts", but Wu Yusen quit due to poor health, so he changed his name to "Seven-Man Band", and also because of the death of Lin Lingdong, this film has great significance, remembering Hong Kong movies at the same time, but also let us remember Lin Lingdong.
Seven directors draw lots to decide on the era of their own shooting, from 1950 to 2020, each telling a ten-year Hong Kong story. The film is an important milestone, after all, hong Kong has never tried seven directors to work together in history, and it is expected that the film will be released as soon as possible.
2. "Wind Forest Volcano"
In recent years, the list of expectations, it has always been on the list, after the 2018 green, various legends are going to be released, but to this day, there is still no finalized news, which is the only movie that can hang my appetite for a few years.
Why so much expectation, first of all, director Mai Junlong, a director from the second generation of the rich, in the case of a weak zombie film, made a "zombie" stunning film scene, known as the best zombie film after Lin Zhengying.
Then there is the film lineup, the five leading actors can take one out alone, namely Jin Chengwu, Leung Ka Fai, Liu Qingyun, Gu Tianle and Gao Yuanyuan, while there are Lu Haipeng, Bao Qijing, Cheng Dong, Liu Yong, Li Yuanba, Lin Junxian and other Hong Kong film familiar faces.
Finally, the theme, the former "Infernal Affairs" subverted the traditional Hong Kong police films, did not have many action elements, but paid attention to the relationship between the characters, and eventually became the rescue work at that time.

3. "Mermaid 2"
The name Zhou Xingchi alone is enough to expect that the film has been completed as early as June 2018, but it has not been finalized, and it has been rumored that Xingye is not satisfied with the effect of the film and has carried out a small reshoot.
"Mermaid 2" previously appeared in Huayi Brothers' 2020-2021 film list, and Wang Zhonglei also said that the specific schedule of "Mermaid 2" needs to be determined by Mr. Zhou.
According to the past habits of Xingye, it must be a large file period, and the 2021 Spring Festival is basically hopeless, and I don't know if it will be next year's summer file.
"Mermaid" won 3.392 billion box office that year, but there is controversy in word of mouth, the heroine of "Mermaid 2" is still Lin Yun, the male protagonist is replaced by Allen, from some of the materials exposed before, the scene of "Mermaid 2" is definitely larger than the first one, there is space, there are wormholes, then you are looking forward to it?
4. "The Secret Visitor"
Suspense films have always been the weakness of Chinese films, in this regard director Chen Zhengdao is highly anticipated, the previous "Master of Hypnosis" and "Master of Memory" have laid a good reputation for him, and this year's "Skyscraper" is also from his hand.
To be precise, "The Secret Visitor" is actually not a Hong Kong film, but because of Aaron Kwok's sake, coupled with the suspense theme, it was added.

It has been more than 2 years since Zhou Runfa's last big-screen work "Peerless", and his dashing gun posture seems to be right in front of him. However, this time "The Sunny Years" is a drama film about the family, and it is still the story of Zhuang Wenqiang.
It mainly tells the story of a father who is hanging Lang Dang and his son with autism, who heal each other. Seeing this father-son love story, I unconsciously remembered Zhou Runfa's "The Story of Ah Lang", and if there is no accident, it is another classic.
6. The movie version of "In Search of Qin"
Recently, the launch of "Great Qin Fu" has invisibly benefited the TV series "Looking for Qin", and many students took this opportunity to review the classics, including me.
The TV drama version of "Searching for Qin" carries many of our good memories, Gu Zai has always wanted to make it into a movie, and now it has finally become a reality, and he has also invited Lin Feng, Xuan Xuan, Guo Xianni, Teng Liming and Zheng Xue'er to return, as well as the joining of Lin Jiadong, Zhang Guoqiang, Hong Tianming and others, and it is regrettable that the lack of "Yan Yi" Jiang Hua.
At first, Gu Zai had looked for Du Qifeng as a director, but Du Sir had no schedule, replaced by Li Zhenlong, from the resume, he was a newcomer director, although he was a little worried, but seeing the return of the former team, what do we want to ask for?
7. "Tomorrow's War"
It is another movie that has released pigeons many times, and when "Shanghai Fortress" collapsed in 2019, we pinned our hopes on "Tomorrow's War" to take back a city, but there is still no news until now.
Gu Tianle is not only a model worker, but also a responsibility, even if the genre of science fiction films is the mainland film market, not many people dare to touch it, but Gu Tianle dares to be the first, and he rushes to this courage and also has to support it.
Set in 2055, the Planet suffers from pollution, global warming, and alien invasions, so the task of saving the Planet falls to an elite force. There are three brothers Gu Tianle, Liu Qingyun and Zhang Jiahui on the lineup, as well as Liu Jialing, Xie Junhao, Wan Guopeng and others.
I hope gu zai can use "Tomorrow's War" to open the first step of Hong Kong science fiction films.
8. "When the Wind Rises Again"
The theme of "Owl Xiong" rose for a period of time in the 90s, such as "Lame Hao", "The Legend of Leiluo", "Dragon and Tiger Brothers of the Four Families" and other classics, and after many years, this theme has been targeted. This time it was director Weng Ziguang who chose the story of the four detectives, and the actors invited Liang Chaowei, Aaron Kwok, Zhou Wenjian and Tan Yaowen.

"When the Wind Rises Again" is not a new story, but why did Weng Ziguang shoot it, because he liked the lame Hao and Leiluo of that era, and wanted to make a love letter of his own, to Hong Kong movies.

9. "Empire of Money 2: The Four Detectives"
Also known as "Money Empire: Battle of the Pinnacle", it is obvious that Wang Jing and Weng Ziguang collided, compared to Weng Ziguang's feelings, Wang Jing is simply a businessman, the success of "Chasing the Dragon" before let him taste the sweetness, although there is the failure of "Chasing the Dragon 2", he does not want to give up, so he rubbed on his previous "Money Empire".
