The formulation of the national "30 carbon peak, 60 carbon neutral" target has led to a sharp increase in demand for renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics. According to the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, the average annual installed capacity of photovoltaics during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period will reach 70-90 GW, which will increase significantly compared with the "13th Five-Year Plan". Experts attending the meeting believe that in the face of the rapid growth of the power station market scale, relying solely on the traditional photovoltaic operation and maintenance mode of artificial labor, there are shortcomings such as untimely fault discovery, long troubleshooting time, low manual inspection efficiency, and high operation and maintenance costs, which seriously restricts the income and operation safety of the power station. Therefore, the transformation from traditional operation and maintenance relying on labor to relying on smart operation and maintenance of big data is not only the trend of the times, but also the objective requirement of reducing the cost and increasing the efficiency of power plants, which will greatly improve the competitiveness of photovoltaic power generation.

According to reports, the research center was jointly initiated by Baoding Yunying Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yingli Yunying"), a subsidiary of Yingli Group, together with the State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Materials and Technology and the Zero Carbon Development Research Institute, and is committed to discussing the standards and system construction of smart operation and maintenance services. "After the establishment of the research center, it will carry out work from the output of operation and maintenance solutions based on big data technology, the research and development and promotion of intelligent operation and maintenance equipment, and the standard output of photovoltaic power plant operation and maintenance technology, and effectively improve the technical level of the operation and maintenance industry."
