Recently, the mid-term inspection meeting of the "13th Five-Year Plan" key research and development plan "Research on Spatial Optimization and Layout of Villages and Towns (2019yfd1100800)" undertaken by Shandong Jianzhu University was held in Rongcheng City, Weihai, Shandong. A total of 75 people attended the meeting, including Professor Yu Dehu, deputy secretary of the party committee and president of the school, Professor Cui Dongxu, the person in charge of the project, Wang Jun, director of the China Rural Technology Development Center, Zhao Songsong, the project commissioner, Liu Chibing, deputy director of the Rural Science and Technology Department of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, as well as the experts of the overall expert group and project consulting experts of the "Green livable Village and Town Technology Innovation" project, the person in charge of the project and sub-task, the backbone of the project research and development team, the person in charge of the scientific research office of our school, the person in charge of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning and the academic backbone, and the vice mayor of Rongcheng City, Liu Feng, vice mayor of Rongcheng City. The content of the meeting included on-site inspection of the planning and construction of the project demonstration base, the overall progress of the project research and the report on the important results achieved, and the expert group questioned and commented and formed inspection opinions.

Yu Dehu accompanied the expert group to the Yinziyuan demonstration base for on-site inspection. The project leader briefly introduced the demonstration and technology application, the expert group watched the video materials of the Centennial Rural Pavilion and 6 demonstration points in Jiangsu, Shanghai and Guangdong, checked the implementation effect of environmental governance, industrial operation, public services and other projects, listened to the deputy mayor of Rongcheng City Liu Feng, Shandong Land Shade Subsidiary responsible person Dai Yuanliang and the town and village responsible persons introduced the situation, the experts inquired and gave full affirmation.

At the mid-term inspection meeting, Yu Dehu expressed a warm welcome to the experts and leaders participating in the mid-term inspection meeting on behalf of the school, thanked the leaders of the China Rural Technology Development Center and the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Department who have long cared for and supported the scientific research work of our school, thanked the experts of the special overall expert group and the project consulting expert group that gave the project guidance, and the responsible persons of the project undertaking units that cooperated with our school for a long time, and briefly introduced the basic situation and achievements of our school.

In his speech, Wang Jun introduced the latest regulations on project inspection and financial audit, and put forward three requirements: First, re-condensing and reconnecting. All responsible persons must cooperate closely, do a good job in the effective connection and organic integration of the results between the project and each topic, and lay a good foundation for the transformation of achievements; the second is to ensure quality and promote transformation. The results should be able to effectively solve industry problems, combined with upstream and downstream industries, industry-university-research coordination, and promote the landing of project scientific research results; the third is to prepare for acceptance and seek development. Take the "four questions of performance" as the starting point to carry out scientific research, do a good job in summarizing and condensing the landmark achievements, and strengthen the contribution to society and the industry.

Cui Dongxu reported on the overall objectives of the project, the important progress and achievements of the research, the completion of the assessment indicators, the budget of the funds, and the next step of the work plan. The heads of the five project undertaking units of our school and Tongji University, Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and Southeast University respectively reported the research progress of the project, and the participating experts made on-site comments, affirmed the progress of the project research and development and the completion of the task indicators, and gave a high evaluation of the frontier of the results and the solidity of the content. The expert group put forward opinions and suggestions on the major scientific issues, landmark achievements and demonstration applications of the project.

The implementation period of the "Research on Spatial Optimization and Layout of Village and Town Communities" project is from November 2019 to December 2022. At present, the project has organized a nationwide survey of typical villages and towns, involving more than 1,300 villages in 96 towns across the country, put forward the spatial benchmarks and data standards of village and town communities, carried out data fusion, integration and database research and development; innovated the theories of village and town communities, communityization, community circles, as well as "participatory" planning, ecological perception, public services, habitat units and other related theoretical methods; developed common technologies such as classification identification, planning decision-making, ecological evaluation, generative design and simulation; in northeast China, north China, east China 31 planning and design demonstrations and 5 completed demonstration projects have been carried out in South China, Southwest China and other regions, 10 index systems, 4 technical regulations, 5 model algorithms have been developed, 47 academic papers have been published, 10 invention patent applications have been accepted, and 9 software copyright authorizations have been obtained.

The project team also held a plenary meeting to deploy the next step of the work plan and priorities in combination with expert opinions.
