South Korean female artist Han Hye-jin was awarded 200 million won in damages for not fulfilling her endorsement agreement

South Korean female artist Han Hye-jin was ordered by the court to pay 200 million won in damages for not fulfilling the endorsement agreement.

Han Hye-jin previously served as a publicity ambassador for the Han-niu Self-Help Gold Management Committee, but when the committee asked Han Hye-jin to honor her agreement to attend the Han-niu Day event last June, Han Hye-jin refused to attend the event on the grounds that her husband, who was playing football in the United Kingdom, Ji Chengyong, moved, and she was subsequently dismissed from her position as a publicity ambassador by the Han-niu Self-Help Gold Management Committee and sued in court for a claim of up to 500 million won.

In its judgment, the court stated that attending the Hanniu Day event was expressly stipulated in the agreement between the two parties, and that Han Hye-jin's failure to attend the event had violated the agreement, but in view of Han Hye-jin's performance of other provisions in the agreement, the court decided to pay 200 million won in compensation to the Hanniu Self-Help Gold Management Committee.
