
Luyang is the old name of Lushan during the Xia Shang to the Southern and Northern Dynasties.
Lushan County has a long history, and the county was called Luyang during the Xia and Shang Dynasties. During the Western Han Dynasty, Luyang County was established. Knowing that during the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of Northern Wei, it was renamed Shanbei County.
In the early years of the Sui Dynasty (617 AD), Shanbei County was changed to Lu County, and later Lu Prefecture. In the first year of Tang Zhenguan (627 AD), Lu Prefecture was abolished and Lu County was renamed Lushan County.
Since then, the name of Lushan has not changed through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and Republic of China.
