According to the athletic reporter Shams Charania, Lakers guard Tarren Horton Tucker has torn the ligament of his right thumb and will undergo surgery.
According to kinematics expert Evan Jeffries, Horton Tucker may be absent for 8-12 weeks, depending on which ligament is torn. Tucker may have to go in a cast for the first six weeks, and because he is a shooter, Tucker expects to have a longer recovery time.
If Tucker had been the most commonly injured ulnar collateral ligament and had undergone the latest therapeutic surgery, his recovery time could have been halved.
