Referring to the practice of American companies in the past, there should be two options. One is like Microsoft, all the data in China is managed by Chinese companies in China, but this will lead to the separation of Chinese users and international users, which not only increases the cost for enterprise operations, but also users cannot get the best latest support, after all, the continuous iteration of software is Tesla's magic weapon. The other is to withdraw from the Chinese market like Google, which is undoubtedly a lose-lose situation, Tesla will lose China, the largest market, and China will no longer be able to get any support from the world's leading companies.
But I personally think there is a third way, that is, Tesla has launched a new model on the car, which I will call the "petrification" model for the time being. In this mode, the car will close any external collection and transmission channel except for the key card reading, can not collect any sound image position and other information, can not send any information in the car, the outside world can not contact the car through any means, and can not carry out any remote operation. However, it will not affect the basic driving function, the car can be started as usual, but all functions that rely on collection and communication will be completely invalidated.
Given that Tesla has already introduced interesting features such as dog mode, camp mode and security mode on the car, the "petrified" mode is completely feasible at the software level. At that time, Tesla will become the most "safe" car.
