When the kennel hotel began to open for soft business, architect Zhang Jiajing, with her Labrador dog "Dumb Meng", set off from Shanghai, drove for 25 hours, ran 1,400 kilometers, and "blocked" Aranya all the way.

This is the picture that Zhang Jiajing conceived in her mind when she first designed the kennel hotel - taking her own dog "Dumb Meng" to experience the kennel hotel in person, and now it has been realized.
Zhang Jiajing said that he was not actually a dog lover at the beginning, and the adoption of Dumb Meng was purely a coincidence, "forced to be a father."

From having no experience in keeping dogs, almost helpless, to now skillfully using alcohol paper towels to wipe the dog's feet, wiping his ass, flossing his teeth with a cotton swab, picking his ears, walking a few kilometers every night rain or shine...
Zhang Jiajing's life has also undergone some changes due to his cuteness, and he has almost given up the travel of young clock love.

"Because dogs are so difficult to carry, almost no hotel can accept big dogs." Maybe it's really every pet's dream to travel with your pet and have more accommodation options.
Therefore, in the design stage of the plan, the owner Ma Yin temporarily wanted to make this triangle at the southernmost end of Aranya into a pet hotel, and the positioning of "you can specially bring a big dog to stay" hit Zhang Jiajing's heart.
The 6-month-old "little milk dog" when he was just adopted, to the 11-year-old old dog who has been accompanied by the dog "Dumb and Cute" for many years, has also allowed Zhang Jiajing to have many delicate thoughts that are difficult for "non-pet people" to reach in the design of the kennel hotel.

Each pet has its own space
As a pet hotel, the first question is how to deal with dog-to-dog conflicts.
"A single dog is easy to do, a group of dogs are troublesome", Zhang Jiajing believes that the most important thing in designing the space between people and dogs is to solve the negative factors of the dog group.
From the beginning of check-in to the stationing of the room, whether it is in the hallway or in the room to look at each other should be avoided as much as possible.
After thinking about it, Zhang Jiajing felt that the first thing to do was to avoid the corridor layout, stacking a sloped roof unit similar to the shape of a dog kennel on top of two other separate slope-top units, and cleverly staggering the entrance and exit of the second floor from the ground floor unit.

The staircase is located between the two units on the ground floor, and a section of the diagonal roof of the downstairs unit is used in the process of traveling, so that the two independent stacks of units have a traffic logic relationship.

In terms of circulation design, the 33 rooms of the kennel have achieved independent access, which has avoided the "unexpected encounter" of the dogs to the greatest extent, and the social place between the dogs should be away from the beach, lawn and paradise outside the hotel.
The height-to-width ratio of the stairs is also designed according to the specifications of the stairs of relatively gentle commercial buildings, so that pets with inconvenient legs and feet can easily get up and down.
In order to deal with the problem of stair encounters, the upstairs unit has two different front and back and subtraction steps, resulting in different façade shapes, and also just formed some dog-scale low spaces in the interior.
The separate duplex rooms are designed to minimize noise problems and create a good resting environment.
Secondly, the indoor space should also adapt to a variety of people and dogs to get along with the mode, such as different owners and pet habits and rest, pet cleaning smell, bathing and washing feet, linen, management... A series of questions.
In the indoor space, upstairs bedroom, downstairs activities, to meet a variety of people and pets to get along with the mode. According to the habits and needs of the owner, you can also set up a spacer fence as a two-story activity partition.
For safety reasons, the stairs are also white fenced, so that children and pets can play with peace of mind.
There is also a low-scale exclusive space specially designed for pets, as well as a small window for pet viewing angles, so that children, cats, dogs and dogs can comfortably nestle on the mat and enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window.
All kinds of loving details meet the common travel needs of owners and pets.
Combining the necessary specifications such as structure, waterproofing, and thermal insulation, the overall structure of the kennel adopts clear water concrete, and the external wall of the building adopts matte transparent polyurea waterproof coating, which is not only waterproof, but also anti-dog urine. The 4 themed rooms with different styles cover art, design, illustration, music, vinyl, calligraphy, parent-child and many other elements.
As one of the most influential design studios in China, 2×4, who has worked with Prada, Tiffany, Harvard, and Yale, has been warmly invited by Aranya and Kennel Hotel.
They introduced the inspiration concept of "art dogs" into the theme room, and designed a whole "famous painting wall" about dogs in the room, leading the guests to appreciate the "dogs in famous paintings" in the history of art.
The corner of the room is also placed with sculptures of different dog shapes; when designing the theme room, it is natural to think of the concept of "two-legged beast" and "four-legged beast", which designs a set of artistic patterns and applies them to room supplies, bedding, water cups, do not disturb signs, household blankets, etc., interesting and interesting.
