Don't take the "bird thing" as an improper thing! A man in Xi'an, Xicang, was sentenced to a suspended sentence

The Lianhu court trial found that on June 20, 2019, when Wang Mou was selling live wild animal thrushes at the Xicang Flower and Bird Market in Lianhu District, he was arrested by the police of the Lianhu Branch of the Public Security Bureau, and six live wild animal thrushes to be sold were seized at the scene. According to the identification of the Shaanxi Wildlife Research Institute, the six thrushes seized are species in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and wild animals under key protection in Shaanxi Province. Wang Mou confessed that in April 2018, he bought 8 thrushes from others at the Xicang North Lane Market for 50 to 60 yuan, and sold two for 150 yuan, and he knew that the thrush would not let them be bought.

The court held that defendant Wang's illegal sale of 6 wild thrushes under key protection constituted the crime of illegally selling endangered wild animals. In view of the relatively minor circumstances of his crime and the admission of guilt in court, and after community investigation and assessment that he has the conditions for community corrections supervision, he was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment, suspended for 1 year, and fined 5,000 yuan. After the verdict was pronounced, Wang Mouguo pleaded guilty in court and did not appeal.

It is reported that after Wang was captured, these thrushes were sent to the temporary rescue point of wild animals in Xi'an City for isolation and temporary breeding, after feeding and observation, the animals were in good health, and on June 27, these 6 thrushes have been released back to nature.
