Jack Black voices dinosaurs: a call for positive action on climate change at the UN General Assembly

Last week, an official U.N. account shared a video of "dinosaurs breaking into the venue." While the opening is a bit frightening, it' voiced by Jack Black is simply an attempt to call on countries to take more aggressive action against climate change. Although it's only 2.5 minutes, the "dinosaur" summary statement is quite deafening - "Don't choose extinction!" Please save humanity before it's too late! ”

Jack Black voices dinosaurs: a call for positive action on climate change at the UN General Assembly

As representatives of species that went extinct seventy million years ago due to the great collision between heaven and earth, the dinosaurs appealed to humans- "Listen, guys. I would like to say one or two things related to extinction, after all this is a pretty bad thing."

It is embarrassing that humanity is in crisis without realizing it, and even individual governments are issuing huge subsidies for the use of fossil fuels. If the hefty $423 billion is spent on covid-19 vaccines, it would be enough to pay for everyone in the world, or cover three times the money needed to end extreme poverty worldwide. Arguably, it's the most ridiculous thing I've heard in tens of millions of years — we [the dinosaurs] could at least blame our own extinction on asteroids, so what excuse should humans make?

The audience agreed with this view, and then Mr. Dinosaur shared its "crazy idea" - "Don't choose extinction, save humanity itself, before it's too late". After the speech, everyone spontaneously stood up and gave a ovation.

The video is part of a UNDP plan to highlight the dangers of climate change and encourage action by global leaders.

Delegates from around the world have gathered at the site of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) (Glasgow, Scotland).

As "the world's last best chance to control the climate emergency," the conference will run from October 31 to November 12.

As a digression, while we'll never know how this Mr. Dinosaur survived the extinction of the species, the United Nations has shared dubbed versions in several other languages.

For example, the Spanish version invites eiza gonzález, while the French version invites aïssa maïga to voice it.
