Brackish water areas such as Haimen Port in Chaoyang City, Laiwu Bay in Chenghai County, and Huanggang Estuary in Raoping County are often found. Especially after heavy rains, fishermen catch them offshore. The crab is salted and seasoned with soy sauce, chili peppers, garlic and MSG to serve, making it a favorite accompaniment product of the Chaoshan people. However, crabs are the intermediate hosts of human lung flukes, and in order to ensure good health, it is best to cook them before eating them.

Blue Crab Scientific name saw-edge blue crab. The anterior margin has 9 triangular teeth of similar size protruding. The claws are smooth and asymmetrical, with the right foot slightly larger than the left foot, the palmar segment is swollen and smooth, and the dorsal mask is covered with two granular ridges with 1 spine at each end. The first three pairs of footlets are toothless, and the anterior and posterior edges of the knuckles have brush-like short hairs.
Blue crab, also known as yellow crab, also known as cockroaches, is a crustacean, cockroach family, commonly known as midge worm hunting, inhabits mud and shallow coastal seas, usually with the tide into the mud, like to burrow in the place where there is fresh water flowing out. Green crabs are produced all year round, but during the period from the third to the twenty-third day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar every year, the shell of the green crab is as strong as a shield, the claws are round and strong, only double skin, and the folk have the saying that "August cockles arrive at a chicken". Flower crab Distant sea pike crab. Cephalothoracic carapace is about 2 times wider than long, fusiform, with rough particles on the surface, the female particles are more pronounced than those of the males; the forehead has 4 teeth, the middle pair of frontal teeth is shorter and smaller, the adult is sharper, and the juvenile is more rounded and blunt; the anterior margin has 9 pointed teeth, and the end teeth are much larger than the anterior teeth and protrude to both sides. The left and right crayons are different in size and elongated, and the length of the male crayon is about 4 times the length of the cephalothorax, and the surface is patterned.
There are obvious differences in body color between males and females. Except for the dark blue color of the movable and immovable fingers of the cray feet and the anterior segments and knuckles of each foot, the rest of the parts are mostly blue-green and covered with light blue or white mottles. Female cephalothorax is dark green at the front and yellowish-brown patched on the posterior part; the ventral surface of the anterior stinging segment is pale orange and extends to the base of the movable and immovable fingers, the front of the second finger is dark red, and the anterior segment and knuckle of the foot are pale orange.
Pike crab Three warts pike crab. Pike crab, because the cephalothorax is thrust shaped, hence the name. There are three protrusions in the center of the carapace, so it is also called "three-wart pike crab". Males have a smooth umbilical tip and a long cyan shell surface; females have villi in the umbilicus and an ochre-colored shell surface, or spots. Pike crab meat is fat and delicious, has high nutritional and economic value, and is suitable for temporary fertilization in seawater. Cephalothorax is fusiform and almost twice as wide as it is longer; the surface of the cephalothorax is covered with fine particles with 2 granular transverse bulges and 3 warty protrusions; the forehead has 2 sharp teeth; the anterior margin has 9 sharp teeth, and the terminal teeth are long and spiney, protruding outwards. The claws are stout and longer than the cephalothorax, and the long segments are prismatic, and the males have slender segments with 4 sharp spines at the anterior margin.
The cephalothorax is tea-green ; the back and foot of the claw are bright blue with white spots ; and the knuckles of the foot and claw are red.
Red Crab Cross Crab. The cephalothorax is about 1.6 times wider and has a smooth surface; the forehead has 6 teeth, the central 4 teeth are similar in size, and the lateral teeth are narrow and sharp; the anterior margin has 6 teeth, the first tooth is flat and blunt, the middle of the leading edge is concave, and the end tooth is smaller than the other teeth, but sharper and more prominent. The claws are quite stout and symmetrical to the left and right; the dorsal surface of the palmar segment is masked with 4 spines; and the medial margin of the long segment has 3 sharp spines.
The cephalothorax is reddish-brown with yellow stripes , while the central front has a yellow cross-stripe. The claws are red with yellow markings , and the front of the two fingers is dark brown.
Bread crab Trowel crab, Idle crab. The cephalothorax is dorsally dorsal with 5 longitudinal verrucous protrusions on the surface, soft hairs on the sides, narrow forehead, concave anterior margin, divided into 2 teeth, small eye sockets, granular teeth on the anterior margin, 3 teeth on the posterior lateral margin, 1 round blunt tooth in the middle of the posterior margin, and 4 triangular sharp teeth on each side. The shape of the claw is asymmetrical, with thicker knuckles on the right and a tighter forehead when the claws are contracted. The foot is slender and smooth. The abdomen of the male is long striped, the third to fifth segments are healed, the segments are recognizable, the sixth segment is nearly rectangular, and the seventh segment is sharply triangular. The female abdomen is broad and long, with the sixth segment nearly rectangular and the seventh segment triangular.
The cephalothorax is light brown ; the eye area has a half-ring of russet markings ; the clawed ankle segments and the outer parts of the long segments are masked with a russet spot; and the tip of the foot is brown.
The cephalothorax is bare and glabrous, but has fine particles and transverse rumble lines; the forehead has 6 teeth, the central 4 teeth are similar in size, and the lateral teeth are narrow and sharp; the anterior margin has 6 teeth, the first to fifth teeth gradually enlarge, and the terminal teeth are the smallest and prickly. The claws are unequal, with 3 spines on the anterior margin of the long segment, 1 strong spine in the inner end horn of the carpal segment, 3 blunt spines in the outer mask, and 5 short spines in the dorsal mask of the palmar segment. In the fourth step, there is a long spine near the end of the posterior edge of the long segment of the foot.
The cephalothorax is purple with a white ventral surface; there are 4 pale yellow oval spots on the posterior part of the cephalothorax; the tips of the spines and anterior lateral margin teeth on the surface of the crayon; and the anterior tip of the two fingers of the crayon is black. Cephalothorax is fusiform and about 2 times longer; the anterior surface of the cephalothorax is grainy and smooth at the posterior; the forehead is divided into 4 teeth, the adult spines are spiny, the juveniles are blunter, and the lateral teeth are larger than the central teeth, but not more prominent; the anterior margin has 9 teeth, the first tooth is longer and sharper than the subsequent 7 teeth, and the terminal teeth are the largest, protruding to both sides. The length of the claws is slightly larger than the width of the cephalothorax, with 3–4 spines on the anterior margin of the long segments; the knuckles are long. The surface of the final foot is soft and hairy, and the posterior surface is smooth and thornless.
The cephalothorax and cray feet are greenish yellow , with 3 circular white-rimmed red spots at the back of the cephalothorax ; the stingings are movable with red markings ; and the foot is roughly pale blue.
