Since the DPP came to power, structural changes have taken place in cross-strait relations, and all events have developed in a direction unfavorable to peace.

First, the DPP continues to "de-sinicize" and strengthens the "identity divergence and political hostility" between the two sides of the strait.

Second, the imbalance in the cross-strait power structure has shown a long-term trend. On the one hand, this trend has encouraged the nationalist sentiment of the mainland people on the issue of national reunification, and the pressure for peace has become increasing. On the other hand, it also creates fear on the weak side, thereby intensifying hostility and resistance to the mainland.
