Shi Yingkang's daughter, Shi Yunying, an associate professor of nephrology at West China Hospital, confirmed the news of Shi Yingkang's death by jumping off a building a little later, and said: "He is cold and tired, so he wants to leave." Public information shows that Shi Yingkang's ancestral home is Fujian, a professor, and a doctoral supervisor. In 1993, the 43-year-old Shi Yingkang was directly promoted from department director to president of the First Affiliated Hospital of West China Medical University, and in a controversy, he became the head of The youngest third-class hospital in China at that time.
