The reserve is located in yong'an City, central Fujian Province, and belongs to the remnants of Dai Yun Mountain. Tianbaoyan belongs to the forest ecological type nature reserve. The reserve is located in the southeast of Jianning County in the middle of the Wuyi Mountains, and the main peak of Jinyi Mountain Baishiding is 1858 meters above sea level, which is the highest peak in Fujian. The reserve belongs to the subtropical forest ecosystem in the Wuyi Mountains and is the main source of the Minjiang River in Fujian Province. There are seven vegetation communities in the area: the southern yew native community, the Zhong Calyx community, the Lei Gong Goose Ear community, the Fujian mountain cherry blossom community, the deep mountain laughing community, the fragrant fruit tree community, and the Zhejiang red camellia community.
