Vietnamese media: Vietnam's Vice Minister of Health, Jang Kwok Keong, has been indicted on suspicion of selling counterfeit and shoddy drugs

Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security announced that the Ministry of Public Security's investigative police organ issued a decision under article 360 of Vietnam's 2015 Penal Code to prosecute Vice Minister of Health Zhang Guoqiang for "the crime of lack of responsibility causing serious consequences".

According to the Vietnam News Agency on November 4, Zhang Guoqiang was suspected of trafficking in counterfeit and shoddy drugs in Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese provinces and cities. He is also suspected of criminal cases such as the serious consequences of lack of responsibility and abuse of power in the performance of official duties. With the approval of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of Vietnam, the investigative police organ of the Ministry of Public Security initiated a public prosecution against defendant Zhang Guoqiang.

According to Reuters reported on November 4, Zhang Guoqiang has served as vice minister since 2016 and is the head of Vietnam's drug and cosmetics management department.
