According to the park management office, when the monkey group is seen foraging and moving in the past few days, the female monkey will also move with the dead little monkey, because it is reluctant to leave, so when looking for food, the mother monkey will put the monkey carcass next to her or on the road, but as soon as the car is approached, it will immediately pick up and run away with other companions, and this situation may continue for a while.
It is understood that the Taiwan macaque monkeys in the Shishan area, because they have been fed by many tourists, often stay in the vehicles and on the road, waiting for the next food to appear. But what is sad is that in recent years, macaques have had "death car accidents" in an endless stream, but there are still many tourists who continue to feed, resulting in macaques' "foraging habits" forced to change, and even actively climb on the roof of the car to beg.
The management office staff said that the female monkey has been holding the baby monkey carcass for 5 days and 4 nights, and will not let go when carrying out the foraging operation, and the current park personnel will not intervene in the wild animals, and it is impossible to predict when the mother monkey will put down the monkey corpse, but will strengthen the inspection to avoid another irreparable tragedy.
