Our party has always attached great importance to the study and education of party history. In 1942, Comrade Mao Zedong stressed in his report "How to Study the History of the Communist Party" delivered in Yan'an: "If we do not have a clear understanding of the history of the Party and the road taken by the Party in history, we will not be able to handle things better. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: "Our party has always attached importance to the study and education of party history, paid attention to using the party's struggle course and great achievements to inspire morale and clarify the direction, use the party's glorious traditions and fine work style to strengthen faith and gather strength, and use the party's practice to create and historical experience to enlighten wisdom and improve character." In the course of a hundred years of struggle, our party has continuously won victories, created brilliance, and opened up the future in summing up historical experience, revealing historical laws, and grasping historical trends.
The concentrated study and education of party history in the whole party is a major policy decision and deployment made by the party Central Committee. At the important moment of ushering in the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and on the new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country, we need to remember the original mission, strengthen faith and conviction, strengthen the revolutionary spirit in the history of the party's century-old struggle, grasp the historical position of China at present, and clarify the future direction of progress. As the largest political party in the world that has been in power for a long time, our party is the most qualified and confident to explain clearly to the people of the world the past, present, and future of the party. As party members and cadres in the new era, they have more confidence and responsibility to study and sum up the party's history well, and to pass on and carry forward the party's successful experience. The broad masses of party members and cadres must profoundly understand that the study and education of party history is a major event in the party's political life, and earnestly enhance their sense of responsibility, mission, and urgency in studying.
Devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the study and education of party history, focusing on studying deeply and thoroughly, and integrating it thoroughly. It is necessary to study comprehensively and systematically, but also to highlight the key points and study in depth; it is necessary to know both what it is and why it is so; both to prevent the surface-layered learning of dragonflies and waters, and to prevent fragmented learning that grasps a little and is not as good as the rest. It is necessary to establish a grand historical outlook and scientifically understand that socialism with Chinese characteristics was obtained in the great practice of reform and opening up over the past 40 -odd years, in the continuous exploration of the 70-odd years since the founding of New China, in the practice of our party leading the people to carry out the great social revolution for 100 years, in the historical process of the Chinese nation from decline to prosperity for more than 180 years in modern times, and in the magnificent development course of world socialism over the past 500 years. It is obtained in the inheritance and development of Chinese civilization for more than 5,000 years. Analyze the mechanism of evolution from the long river of history, the tide of the times, and the global situation, explore the laws of history, and profoundly understand why the Communist Party of China can do it, why Marxism works, and why socialism with Chinese characteristics is good.
History contains the idea and spirit of opening up the future. To devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the study and education of party history, we need to make efforts to grasp the context of the party's historical development, profoundly understand the party's unchangeable purpose of always serving the people, profoundly comprehend the valuable experience of the party in successfully promoting China's revolution, construction, and reform, systematically grasp the major theoretical achievements formed by the party in promoting the sinification of Marxism, and study and inherit the great spirit forged by the party in its long-term struggle. Only by grasping the focal points of focus can the study and education of party history go deep and be solid and achieve practical results.
Carrying out party history study and education and doing a good job in one's own work is organically unified: Party history study and education provides motivation and support for doing one's own work well, and doing one's own work well and solving practical problems is the foothold of party history study and education. The effectiveness of party history study and education should ultimately be reflected in the actions of party members and cadres in doing practical things for the masses, in improving the ability of officials to start a business, and in enhancing their ability to cope with risks and challenges.
